Stamkos at 7?
Chris Kunitz only bows down to Kane and Sid.
Stamkos at 7?
I agree with you here. I wouldn't surprised or upset to see him mentioned, I just feel like this is Crosby's to lose at this point in the season based on what he's done with his team.
Something that I forgot about. Kunitz used to play with Getzlaf for a while.
The Hart is supposed to go to the MVP of the league. Take Crosby away from the Pens & they still have Malkin & Sutter. Take Getzlaf away from the Ducks & it's grissled veteran Saku Koivu. The Pens would still be a playoff team. I don't know if the same can be said of the Ducks.
Well, I'm pretty sure that Koivu is as good as Sutter right now. Malkin's MVP season followed up Corey Perry's. I don't think that you can say that Getzlaf makes his guys better than Crosby does this year, can you?
Beyond all of that, the Hart is meant for the most valuable player for each team. For forwards, their value is weighed more on scoring. If we just went by which team would be lost the most without that player then Peyton Manning would have won the MVP of the NFL a year ago.
The Vikings wouldn't be a playoff team without Peterson. So the same thing can be said about him as Manning.
The Ducks are 4 points behind the Blackhawks for the best record in the entire league. Team record will also have some baring on who wins the award. I realize everyone else in the league is climbing a big mountain to catch Crosby in terms of points & probably the Hart, but considering the year he's having & how his team is doing, Getzlaf should be up for the award & have a chance at winning it.
Who knows maybe both guys meet in the finals.

Jake Muzzin for Calder
I forgot to add the calder and that was my pick also.
The Kings always seem to have a defenseman waiting in the wings. It's amazing.
I really think of them as Bruins-West now. Strong team play without many holes for a few years now.
/East coast bias
Question: I think most of us agree that Craig Anderson was a finalist if not the front-runner for the Vezina before his injury. Does that knock him out?
I think so. Not because he wasn't having a great season, but because the Senators have continued to play well without him.
Good point. Niemi, Crawford and Price then?
If Nashville makes the playoffs Rinne has to be in the mix. The Preds have seroious scoring issues.
Yeah, I just don't see it happening. His numbers are solid, but I don't see enough wins.
True, but it's not his fault the guys in front of him can't score.
I'm just going to drop this in here...
No Malkin, Toews, Ovenchicken, Price or Subban (unless I skimmed those parts). Vewy, vewy intewesting.
Power Ranking the NHL's Top 25 Players at Midseason in 2013 | Bleacher Report
Wow. I guess Tampa Bay must be one of the best team in the League, to have 3 players in the Top 20.
