Saw that. Was hoping Cleveland would get him.

Can't believe he would take another HC job with a shady QB position.

I dont get it. Dude just got fired at head coach and deserved to be fired. Especially what we have seen from the Cardinals under its new Coach and staff.

Nice. I had him as the best available out of all the potential candidates when the season ended. I'm a little shocked he chose the Titans over the Lions though. I suppose he sees the Titans as having more flexibility to do what he wants. Wiz did well as an OC in Pit and was good as a HC in Arizona. The wheels came off once Warner retired but I'm willing to overlook that because they had some dreadful QBs. It helps that he obviously made a positive impact on Rivers in SD this year. I anticipate the Titans will draft a QB to compete with Locker so whoever wins the job, having Wiz around should definitely be a plus in development.

Surprising. Thought he would go with a team that had a good QB. Apparently he wasn't comfortable with the fit sighting his preference for the 3-4 defense and Detroit's personnel suited for the 4-3. That's why you have coordinators Ken.

He got a lot of credit for Rivers' turnaround, but I think that was mostly McCoy.

Chargers next OC likely to be Frank Reich, of the 32 point playoff comeback.

Which makes it all the more surprising he went to a team with a question mark at QB.

Plug in your offense in Detroit, hire a good 4-3 D coordinator, and he's got a good shot at the playoffs. I don't get it. Maybe he feels like he needs to prove something by developing a QB, not being given another proven guy like Big Ben, Warner, or Rivers.

I hope you aren't putting Stafford on the level of BigBen or Warner.

How did Detroit screw this up? He is tailor-made to coach this Lions team.

Yes, Whiz deserved to get fired by the Cardinals, but so did the GM. Three seasons of QB experiments and losing after Warner retired led to that decision. Whiz is a good coach that can win if he has an above average to good QB. But he won with Denny Green's players. If you already have the players in place, like Detroit has, he can coach them to the SB. I am not sure why he chose the Titans over the Lions.

I like the hire for the Titans, Detroit should have went a bit harder for him.

Perhaps he didn't want to deal with a team that has win now potential/expectations.

Could be that, but I doubt it. Unless he really felt the pressure of succees and backed down.

Think he did a fine job as the OC of the Chargers this past season though.

Do you really believe that?

It's the nfl, all the hc jobs are win now or be gone. Next year is not guaranteed by any team. The lions are talented, but perhaps coaches don't like the way the organization is run.
