This is a great gesture by the Medicine Hat Cubs, they're sending my late brother-in-law's jersey to the rafters...

The Cubs will also be retiring the jersey number of the late Terry Bartman, who wore No. 10, was one of the initial players from the 1974 Cubs team and served as captain for the next three seasons with the team. Bartman coached minor hockey in Medicine Hat and served as president of the South East Athletic Club and chaired the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in 2019.

Bartman, who died in March, was Wong’s coach when he was in AAA midget and he says honouring the Cubs legend was the least the organization could do.

“We wanted to show our respects and we thought it was fitting for how long he played with the Cubs and what he did in our community, that we put No. 10 up in the rafters,” Wong said. “So we can let people see the banner wave with Murray Craven, Blaine Lacher and Justin Bremer.”

@forty_three no worries Jack Johnson Light just signed to play in Switzerland. So no need to worry about him coming back to Columbus.

That's not strictly true, he lives here.

Dickhead even brought the cup here. Only his kids and their friends came to the party at the ice cream joint.

Well that isn't starting off well, I guess they hope he will turn it around in North America?

  • 2023 NHL Draft Top 10 pick Dalibor Dvorsky has mutually terminated his contract with IK Oskarshamn. Dvorsky was loaned to the Swedish club at the start of the year but has gone without a point through their first 10 games of the season. Dvorsky is expected to come to North America, although who he’ll be suiting up for next is uncertain. The Sudbury Wolves own his CHL rights, although the Blues may instead opt to send Dvorsky to the AHL.
