I am on episode 4 of Marvel's Daredevil, and expect to be done it in 10 days, 2 weeks tops. That leaves a void in my tv viewing consumption. I thought about re-watching The Wire and Breaking Bad, but I think I'll save those for the summer. So which TV show should I watch next, The Americans or House of Cards? It should be noted that I watched the first season of The Americans and was not impressed. I don't find the male spy very interesting, nor do I find the law enforcement guy that good either. In fact, I found the show to be a little bit of a rip-off of Breaking Bad. But I hear it gets a lot better. So which one Hooplans?

Haven't seen either but House of Cards I've just been simply waiting on since it's all on Netflix and available whenever. I'd probably say that one. Americans seems kinda meh.

Loads of other shows out there too

Wow.

I gave up on HOC (probably will go back eventually) for the same reason that we criticized Bloodline. Holy dumpster fire of humanity.

Fair point.

I guess I am OK with an unlikable character is he is actually good at what what he does. John is just as asshole who keeps burying himself deeper and deeper. Francis is a bad-ass political navigator.

Right now my three favorite non-comedy shows are Better Call Saul, The Americans, and Orphan Black. Saul is in a category of its own but The Americans and Orphan Black are both very, very good.

Then there are others that are still good but get real god damn goofy sometimes.

- Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead but I'm sure you've seen these already
- Jessica Jones ( I actually liked this more than Daredevil ).
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Get past the first 15 or so mediocre episodes and it's good.
- House of Cards. Good first season, 2 was meh, 3 was okay, 4 was excellent.

Comedy wise you can't go wrong with Silicon Valley or Rick and Morty.

While TWD is my FAVORITE show on "TV", I agree that BCS is the BEST show on "TV".

I've settled on two new shows. Rome, which I just started, and Brotherhood, as recommended by someone on the Phillies' forum

Rome was really good, but it was hard to follow. It also only lasted 2 short seasons, so it never really hit a groove.

I remember watching a few episodes of Brotherhood YEARS ago. I dont remember major details, but I do remember liking it.

Yeah, I still got three episodes of Bloodline. I haven't had a show to binge-watch since Boardwalk Empire. I tried three episodes of Deadwood, and couldn't get into it. Hopefully Rome and Brotherhood are good for the summer, then I'll debate between Dexter and Mad Men for the fall

Dexters first 4 seasons hold up against pretty much any show. Then it really starts to tail off.

I watched MM, but only mildly enjoyed it up to the finale. I HATED the finale, which really influenced my opinion of the show over-all.

Going back, I could take it or leave it, but overall, I would rather have invested the time in something else.

I LOVED Dexter. It got a little derailed after the third season or so, but the first 2 seasons were as good as anything you will see on TV.

If you want to see something that is very deep in suck-i-tude, but overall a fun ride, try Nip/Tuck. The first 2 seasons were really good. After that, it got pretty rough, though...

Rome was fanfvcking-tastic. If you don't mind spending some money, rent it on blue-ray so you can watch the extra content. Awesome stuff. The amount of work they put into that show was staggering.

At the time it was the most expensive show in TV history, and died because BBC I believe pulled their 1/3 funding. (HBO and an Italian broadcaster were the other 2/3)

At that time, it made me predict that Game of Thrones wouldn't get greenlit.

I was happy to be 100% wrong on that.

Anyway, Rome is one of the few shows I'd think about actually owning a hard copy of.

HBO trivia. Deadwood creator David Milch met with HBO execs and pitched them on a period piece set in Rome. The execs kind of paused, looked awkward and said... 'Uhm, we've already got a show based in Rome in the works.'

So Milch just lifted the concept and plunked it down in South Dakota instead.

Now that I think about it, Battlestar Galactica is also very good if you can get past the poopy ending. And like others have said Dexter's great for about 4 seasons. You'll probably have to watch 5 though just due to how 4 ends.

BSG was GREAT. I rewatch the entire series every few years. I actually kinda liked the end.

I used to catch the reruns they'd show on BBC America quite a bit. Probably would be worth it to catch the whole series again.

If you haven't seen the BBC show MI-5, I'd definitely recommend it!!!

Haven't seen the two main choices yet

I'm finishing up The Man In The High Castle. It's fantastic.

It's only been one season with 10 episodes, so it's not a big time investment.
