Really, we'd know what Team B would look like in today's game. Brady has had an elite RB, an elite TE and an elite WR and has also led some of the most explosive offenses of all time.

We don't know what Team A would look like in today's game with today's rules and today's medical advances.

Brady never had an elite RB.

And we don't know what today's players would look like in yesterdays game with full contact.

If you are going to do one of these fantasy groupings you should at least use rules that are fair for both and letting them all play full out is the only thing that would work. Some of those guys in B would not make it long with that kind of physical contact.

Brown? They played real football back then. None of this pussy ass no hitting bullshit they try and pass off like the same game. They took hits that would get you ejected now and got back up and did it again, and again, and again. Many of the players from that era had so many lasting effects from the concussions and other repeated injuries that they were not right after they retired, died way early, or could barely walk.

Brown excelled in an era when real men played real football. He blew up defenders and never avoided contact. He broke tackles like no other before him or after.

You can believe the pussies who play modern ball are better, but those who have at least seen much of the highlights of his career would ALL tell you how very wrong you are.

:suds:

:10:....not to mention back then they stacked the box and always played the run. Playing the pass was the cornerbacks jobs.

How about you keep Megatron and throw Marvin Harrison instead of Moss. Gives you way more balance. Harrison is every bit as good as carter was. Megatron is every bit the player Rice was, but early in his career played with AWFUL QB's. He makes Stafford look way better than he is. Peyton and Brady are both far more prolific passers than Montana. Running backs are a slight favorite to A. But realistically in this matchup the big difference is at TE. with all these explosive guys outside the middle of the field would be key. and thats where gonzo would make a killilng.

Agreed. I think Larry Fitz is the best receiver in the game.

I can't agree, but I can't really disagree. I don't think anyone has any clue how good Fitz has been the past 4 years. The QB's have been awful....

Moss >>>>> Megatron

Fitz>>>>>> Harrison

Group B.

Athletes of today are bigger, faster, and stronger than those of of yesteryear. Which means everyone is going up against bigger, stronger, faster defenses as well.

No question.

Randy moss had to be on the list. He's the second greatest WR there ever was. It was between Calvin and fitz so you gotta go Calvin. He's just a freak. Larry is still a hofer

Calvin is better than Randy. He is also a much better teammate. Doesn't give up pout and sulk. Played with awful QB's for 50% of his career. As for Fitz being better than Marvin? I guess he is more physically imposing. But you'd be hard pressed to tell me Larry is better than Marvin, Marvin was a monster and is a top 5 WR in NFL history.

Fitzgerald is the best receiver in the NFL. The only edge Calvin has is verticality and it's not huge. Hands, agility, route running, extension for any ball not straight up, versatility, etc, Fitz doesn't just beat megatron; he blows him away.

Randy had two years with Brady and despite being well past his prime, destroyed defenses. He played with garbage the rest of his career. Stafford is much better than Culpepper.

Fitzgerald is the best receiver in the NFL and does everything Marvin did then some.

I have to disagree with you here. Larry is great. Calvin is better. He's not just a throw it up to me receiver. He can run routes, catch the ball across the middle etc.

No question.

A lot of people overlook this. I looked up the roster of the Packers in 1965, Jim Brown's final season in the league. The biggest player on their defensive line was Ron Kostelnik, who was 6-4 and weighed 260 pounds.

The Packers won the championship with a guy the size of Von Miller playing defensive tackle.
