UMMMMM, there will be no more, the league teams are playing each other now, so I doubt that we will see anyone remaining on the schedule move up without others dropping.

You cannot say that. You have no idea how league play will unfold across the spectrum of college football.

If you have any doubt, go back to 2011 and track the progress of Baylor. How did things look for them after they suffered 2 straight blowout losses to A&M and Okie St. respectively? And where did they finish?

Defense was discouraging after a nice start. DL was pushed back big time. No difference on the offensive front. When playing similar athletes (Baylors 2nd & 3rd teams). They scored some points. If Baylor is as good as we may them look, they will go far.

Coaching aside, we just don't have the athletes to compete with the best. We were too small and too slow last night.

Where are we going? We will struggle and hopefully make a bowl this year. I doubt Ollie eats holgenthorpes buyout. Hopefully we recruit some quality lineman and start to compete.

Dad, get off the panic button. Did you not say this was a 4 win WVU team? Well, we're at the midway point with 3 wins. Hey, look at that, we're ahead of the pace you set! This is a young team and Baylor has beaten the crap out of everyone they have played thus far. This was expected. Quit acting like WVU is supposed to be some almighty, elite program.

Special teams were actually very good, record night in KR yardage, nice coverage on Booms' punts and not one muffed punt. :noidea:

After what I seen in the TT KU game I think we can do ok vs The Red Raiders in a couple weeks, we have a chance. We got beatdown by a legit top 10 team with what might end up being the best offense in CFB history at their place at night with a young crappy offense and an ok but not great defense....shocker

When you let the other team score ten TDs, and a FG, you are going to get a lot of KR yards, and Baylor NEVER punted.......................

MAC, WVU is NOT an elite program, so we should not expect to win them all, BUT WVU is a traditional top 20 team, and should NOT get blown out one time in three that they take the field against BSC level competition. If we have come to EXPECT ass whippings, then we are fucked up.

WVUDAD isn't a elite fan, he is a crying bitch that needs to chill But everyone seems to love to argue with him. If he would of shot his bow at the Doe he would of hit a Tree 20 feet away and he didn't want his son to see the real mighty hunter he is. He is a Elite crying Bitch that is for sure

Seems this thread got off track......by the person who started the thread!!!...LOL!!...

Where is Wv going?..hopefully to a respectable season if they are able to shake off the loss to Baylor...it would be a good first step in the process of maturing as a group...Wv got beat by a team that just may win it all!!...I don't know who stops that team....they were very impressive....

Impressive is an understatement. They have jets all over the field and their QB is a bigger version of Drew Brees. Mark it down, that Baylor QB will be a stud in the NFL on Sundays.

WVU is a traditional top 20 team?

Since 1953 we have only finished in the top 20-----13 times. with droughts of 13 years, twice 5 years, once 8 years....only once in the last 5 years DH's first.

Oh wait I am sure you meant top 25 well 18 times since 1953....we are no traditional top 25 powerhouse...i guess if 10 years of records make you traditional...RR only did it four times Stew finished 23 and 25...

Enjoying this bye week, get to hear the morons talk about Saban coing home....blah blah LOL LOL LOL

Heard a caller this AM on Bill King's radio show go off on Dana. Plenty of fans like Dad out there who say they knew WVU was going to struggle this season, but bitch about each blowout loss claiming they're unacceptable losses.

While it is just my opinion, I agree that the margin of losses is concerning. I don't have an answer for them... other than the youthfulness of our team.

Last year's defense was starting a huge number of underclassmen. As anyone with any football IQ will tell you, there are key personnel on defense who have to communicate. When these key personnel are underclassmen... it can become a CF in a hurry.

This year, WVU has the 8th youngest team in Div 1. They hit the panic button easily.

Is that a product of poor coaching? Inexperience? Immaturity or youthfulness?

I don't know.

I will be interested in seeing how many of the Baylor offensive players get drafted in the NFL... and where they get drafted. It appears to be as talented a group as I can recall. Some have mentioned the 2001 Miami team... look at the number of NFL players who starred for them.

To date, Sagarin has WVU's SOS at #6. I still believe this team will improve and finish with a solid record. I still believe Dana will turn out to be a solid HC. And, I still believe WVU will become a power next year and years after as the program is established.

Briles has provided a great model to emulate.

If everyone had read BB's post some while back with the article, "The Signal and the Noise", this wouldn't be necessary. No one should delude themselves into thinking WVU football is of a higher stature than it really is. If you didn't give the article a good read and take it to heart now would still be a good time. I don't agree with everything written, but it's a good article with a lot to take away from it. Thanks once more to BB for posting it.

What does all-time number of wins or winning percentages have to do with the team's ranking in the polls?

BB, you are so right, WVU football sucks, has always sucked, and will forever suck, so we should love and enjoy each 30 point loss. Great coaches ALWAYS get blown out one in three times, remember, we fired a coach for going 9-4 who lost those four games by less points than the great coach we have now has lost individual games. I know now the real reason he was fired, he did too good for the likes of WVU. This offensive guru who can not coach his offense to score 14 points is what we should want, we should strive to have the worst defense in school history each year. That offense is so great that ANYONE can be plugged into it and score 50 points. WOW, how the hell you guys are still making excuses for a man who is in so deep over his head amazes me..........
