Would love to know what team @WiggyRuss will be rooting for when lebron leaves
He has stated pretty clearly that he wants the Cavs to go full rebuild, which is where they should try to head.
The challenge is that they have a lot of vet contracts that are not easily movable, which may prohibit them from truly bottoming out for a couple more years.
Moving Love would be the first order of business. They should wait on the other contracts like Hill and TT because they would have to attach substantial assets to move them this coming season.
But yeah. I can't envision LeBron staying at this point.
Assuming the lose this series and Lebron leaves...
1. Accept that they are at least 2 to 3 years away from contending in a best case scenario.
2. Move Kevin Love. He has real value now. Getting some future assets for him now would be the best use of him.
3. Don't move Hill or Smith until later next year when they will have essentially expiring contracts.
4. Make a decision on Clarkson and TT. Stuck with both of them for 2 years. Probably best to just live with it but that will likely ensure mediocrity for 3 years.
Thing is, if they move Love they will be a bottom 8 team next year. They won't completely bottom out, but they will surely be in the lottery.
now THAT'S fucked up...
It sure warms the heart to see @Shaqdaddy11 show concern about his team's future.
