Close, my preference is the regular repalla ... black and silver like shown above....just not the broken back. In the St. Lawrence I catch everything on them...Bass, pearch, pike, bluegills....even had a catfish hit one.

For bass I go with the Gary Yamato Senco pretty much full time. I sometimes ite on micro stuff when they aren't hitting.

The Gary Yamato baits have exploded recently. I see people using them all over the place. They're great little worms.

Lol!

Another I can't believe it took so long to stumble on this one story. For so many years I've found small crawfish in the fish I cleaned. Tried several craw lures but they never seem to work as well as the stomach contents would suggest they might.

Then I found these tiny little baby crawfish and holy smokes, everything smacks 'em. I think the shell of the adult might deter fish but these little ones represent immature craws.

I'll have to look for those. I've always thought the same thing. I've had those crayfish lures since I was a kid, but I've never actually caught anything on them -- I gave up on them a long time ago. But smaller ones might be the trick.

They're available at that link I dropped M&B, grab a couple of packs of them...I assure that you'll be impressed with them. I too always wondered why crawfish lures didn't work very well.

They come with a couple of small jigs per pack but they're lead. In CT and MA where I do most of my fishing, lead under one Oz is illegal so I bought some tin ones. Tin jigs are expensive though.

Back when I fished a lot, after a rain in Oklahoma the bass would hit just about any spinner you threw but my favorite was a neon green 1/8 oz. Shyster spinner on an ultra light. It was fun to snag a 1-2 pounder on that rig.

Yamamotos are the best for Bass... I've slayed a ton of large mouth off of those in my day... It's almost too easy.

I have several "go to" lures.

The new Livingston lure has been slaying them for me lately. They dive deep and have a chip in them that when activated by water, illuminates the eyes for a second. Pretty cool.

I also never fail when using a Texas rig with a Grande Bass Mega Rattlesnake in the Trophy Hunter color.

Ok, so I hit the local stream after work. Still had on work clothes but just wanted to toss a few lures around this large hole in the stream. Worked the high and somewhat cloudy water with a phoebe and then a Mepps spinner to no avail.

I then tied on one of my trusty mini-craws and on the third cast, I hooked and landed this monster breeder rainbow trout that the State had stocked. 25 inches, 6.83 Lbs on 4 Lb test stren...it was a challenge not to horse him in. Had her hooked solidy and eventually got her to the beach!

If you look closely up the rod, you can see the craw jig that was her undoing. We baked it up the next evening and it fed 9 people with plenty left over!
