Yup, that is about the size of it. I could be talked into keeping Luke Schenn but really he is the only defenseman who I can really say that about.

BUT

That is a decent frame to build around.

Raffl, read, and bellemare are only worth keeping if they play in the bottom 6. Other than that, I agree.

Streit is fine on D, but by the time the flyers are competitive again he'll be retiring.

I think Raffl, Read and Bellemare can all be that "swing" forward(s) that the good teams always seem to have a couple of...the player who is usually a 3rd liner or even a 4th liner special teams player who always seems to make the big plays.

For the right deal I could see either or both Schenn brothers moved. If you move Brayden Schenn then I think Matt Read is more untouchable.

I think that Streit will hang around unless the wheels come so far off that they are mathematically eliminated and someone needs a PP specialist. Otherwise he will be a very well paid 5/6 PP specialist moving forward.

If played properly I have no problem keeping Streit, Grossmann and Schultz. Streit is a top pairing guy and good PP QB. Grossmann is a 2nd pairing dman that gets 2nd pairing money. Not flashy but solid for a 2nd pair. Schultz is a solid 3rd pairing guy especially for his cap hit. Are these guys you build around, no, but they are legitimate NHL players that are not killing our cap.

Coots is just embarrassing when he has the puck on his stick. It's like he doesn't know what to do with the puck at all and seems like he's surprised every time he touches the puck.
