I write it off as confidence. Cant really brag until you actually do something to brag about. I agree that the Jets have been quite cocky lately.

LOL from Peter Kings MMQB article today. He faced Milliner (another overrated so far scrubby Alabama defender)

“The best cornerback in the league? Me.”
—Dee Milliner, second-year cornerback of the New York Talking Jets. Pro Football Focus rated Milliner 55th of 79 NFL cornerbacks who played at least 50 percent of their team’s snaps in 2013.

These cornerbacks were graded higher by PFF after film study of every game: Logan Ryan (30th), Jimmy Wilson (41st), Terrell Thomas (44th), Nolan Carroll (45th), Robert McClain (50th), Darius Butler (51st), and Melvin White (52nd).

They feel they won the offseason title with their "big name" free agents, so they will be favored to win the real season.

Because it always works out that way, ya know.

Lol true... I know Rex Ryan does that allot, so it seems like it's rubbing off...

The Milliner quote is hilarious. He can think it all he wants, but he still has to go out and prove it. With the guys that are considered to be at or near the top of the list, he's got some work to do to get there.

As others have said, though, this seems like it's pretty standard stuff for a Rex Ryan team. Eventually it's gonna wear thin with even the most staunch Ryan supporters if the Jets can't win the Super Bowl or even get past the Pats on a regular basis in that division.

I can't blame their bragging, the Jets might be the best 8 win team in the league.

Everyone is just following Sherman's lead in the talk department hoping it will rub off in the walk department. Unfortunately for all of them, they are not as smart, talented, athletic, or hard working enough to ever back up their talk.

I am starting to see coaches trying to mimic Pete's approach as well about competition and being positive, but it seems so forced and unnatural coming from them. It won't work because they will revert to their normal methods under pressure and that will confuse the players and cause bad decisions. Other owners won't buy in to that system either. There will be pressure to play the most expensive players even if they are not the best players.

It's funny I'm hearing other teams players use ... " At the end of the day" Russell's quote and also " Why not us" But you know I think it is a copy cat league and who-ever has success teams look to why ... As far as Pete's approach, Man he was heavily criticized for his HOO RAH RAH style of coaching, but it seem's he's not being criticized so much anymore.... When I went to Pete's training camp I was SHOCKED with the Rap music blaring and the fun I saw the players having.... I mean he makes um work but they have fun with Pete... He's a great coach PERIOD ... Were lucky to have him...

I went to training camp a couple years ago. Pete was tossing a football back and forth with the fans, music was blaring, it was like a party. When it came time to get down to business the players hit it hard though, they obviously respond to his style.

The Skins' training camp is held about a mile from my house. I wandered up there Sunday. Yawn! Nowhere near the same level of energy.
