What's SM's overall plan for this team?

There are several ways to build a winning team, constant playoff team and SB winners. Could it be that all of the focus on RGIII misses the possible SM mark of building this powerhouse bereft of a superstar QB. It's been done many times before and quite frankly, would be easier to do than what many believe to be the only way to do it. What say you, do we really have a true grasp on SM's long term plan and does that mean having a superstar QB in place?

Yep McCloughan has said before he wants a big physical team. I am not worried about QB. He will figure something out. Both teams dad mentioned had tough physical defenses with a strong running game on offense. I think a guy named Joe Gibbs had similar teams. I would be happy with that.

Not sure why Russell Wilson does not get the love he deserves here. He is more than "pretty good". There's a reason they went from a "pretty good" team to 1 yard short of back to back rings and that reason is Russel Wilson. His stats don't tell the story, the stats don't show how he scrambles out of trouble and runs for 13 or finds an open receiver on a broken play to convert a 3rd and 11. They don't tell how he comes up big in the closing moments nearly every single time.

No the reason the Hawks got over the top is their QB and it's the reason this team will probably draft one early next spring.

Wilson has been much better than I thought he would be. He has found a way to minimize his lack of height. Sticking with the D and run game theme though. Hawks win because of that D. Remember how big Wilson was in at the end of last years Super Bowl?

Hawks had a great defense in place before Wilson's arrival. What put them over the top was Russell Wilson. And the Super Bowl just proved my point. He took them right down the field in the final minutes, again, on the biggest stage of them all. Only a horrible decision and a great defensive play prevented it from being an Elway Moment. I talk to a lot of Hawks fans and they all understand that Russell Wilson is a key to their success.

Sometimes you luck into the QB. Remember the Seahawks signed Matt Flynn that same year. The Redskins lucked into a good QB once but didn't realize. Remember Trent Green. For want of a million dollars they let him go.
