Breeland is severly underrated. If Culliver returns I just don't see corner as a huge need. Hell even without him it wasn't a huge hole this year with the way Jarrett, Dunbar etc filled in.

How is BB severely underrated?

If you look at our draft from two years ago. Moses was a 3rd and Breeland was a 4th round pick. Sometimes you can strike gold in these rounds. NO bullshit about that skinsdad. ESPN just had a blog about the 2014 draft. They claimed the best pick in that draft was Breeland. A 4th rounder.

This blog you speak of is claiming that BB was the best pick of the the entire 2014 draft or the best pick of the Redskins 2014 draft?

I think Lawerance starts for Dallas. Long and Murphy are backup players.
Maybe. Maybe not. The fact is they were both starters this year. And the scenario that put the into the lineup this year could very easily play out again next year. And who know, we could see Long make a jump next year just as Moses did this year.

Let's change the Murphy discussion to this hypothetical. When we drafted Murphy in 2014, we actually traded down and swapped second rounders with the Cowboys that same year. With our second rounder, they drafted DeMarcus Lawrence. Who would you rather have now?

Before you answer that, we got the Cowboys third rounder that year and selected Spencer Long.

Any thoughts?

OK...I will answer that question. At this exact moment, with this exact team makeup, I would take what the Redskins got. Lawrence did absolutely nothing last season for Dalls so it is safe to assume he would have done nothing for us. We also run a 3-4 defense and Dallas runs a 4-3 so we have a problem with fit. Lawrence plays the same side as RK. We would have still taken Preston Smith in this last year's draft so the question would become, which one of these guys do you want to trade for a third or fourth round pick because they would be our fourth OLB?

What did we get? We got two guys that started a majority of this season's games for us. Both guys are going into year three...why do guys you like get to develop ad guys you don't get wasted for a mid round pick? Because you want to be right more than you want the Skins to be good.

The truth..it worked out for both team in year 2...next season is next season. Ask at that point.

I said the same stuff gk in my way earlier post. b/c of the different defenses 3-4 and 4-3. Our guys started b/c of injuries and Murphy got benched b/c Smith was better. If Lawerence was on our team and put up a 8 sack season why would I want to trade him? lol

If it worked out for us in year two that would mean Murphy and Long would have been full time starters. They were not. Could you imagine Rk, Galette, Smith and Lawerance? Pretty nasty if you ask me. Its not about being right it just stating the obvious. The only way Long and Murphy see the field this year will be b/c of injury. How can you deny that?

Murphy didn't get benched. He and Smith alternated based on package, down and distance.

True, but his play time diminished b/c Smith was playing at a high level at a huge point of the season where we had to win to get into the playoffs. I just don't see Murphy seeing the field this year with Gallette being brought back on and with Smith. Smith upside is bigger than Murphy's and Galette is a proven player in the league. Who was our 4th OLB this year?

Because according to you, our fourth OLB needs to be traded for a third or fourth rounder.

RK
JG
PS
Demarcus Lawrence...would be our fourth.

I keep reading where corner is a big need, both from outsiders and within our own fanbase. Not on this board but on others. Breeland is damn good and it appears a lot of folks haven't noticed.

hey gk. this is the latest article from Bashir on how the draft picks worked out. He talks about the pass rushers for the future, notice how Murphy names was off the list. I don't know how you think Smith wasn't our best pick in the draft.

Does Redskins pass rusher Preston Smith possess "elite" potential?
It's too early to say who is the best pick. Smith could certainly turn out to be it, but there are a couple guys that have potential. Jarrett may turn out to be the best value.

That has more to do with Culliver's uncertainty doesn't it? I've read a few articles questioning whether he'd be ready to go or not next year.

Possibly. Still don't think Breeland gets the love he deserves.

Oh my Lord. Dude. I already stated I believe PS will be the better player. I have stated based on Playing time and starting, Murphy was the better OLB this season. He specifically referred to pass rushing and nobody is questioning that PS is the better rusher...but he wasn't the more complete player and his lack of understanding directly attributed to him being below Murphy. You have to do "your job" in the NFL and there is more to being an OLB than pass rushing. Again, great sack against GB but he was abused the rest of the game. One great play does not make up for the rest of his game. I will take a game of solid over a game of pathetic with one great play.

Even if Murphy is nothing more than a backup, which we will need four OLBs, you don't trade a good backup for a third or fourth rounder unless you have an extra good backup to replace him.

I know just wanted to point out the article. I thought you said Smith wasn't our best pick in the draft. Who was our 4th OLb last year? Just curious. If I had to guess I think it was Bates.

That's because most just look at INTs.
Likely that plays into it.

He did drop a few potential INTs that were there for the taking this year as well as had a few TDs caught on his watch by receivers that were a result of really good throws, athletic catches and a bit of luck.
