What kind of package would you give up to get Giancarlo Stanton?

I do remember that. You gave up on all the 'so-called' prospects as well as I remember.

It is interesting to go back and re-read this thread. It got heated quickly, we all seemed to have short tempers LOL. We sort of ended up with the old man version of Stanton with Nelson Cruz. How sweet it would have been to have Stanton and Cruz in the same lineup. Although the Jack Z mentality would be "we already have Stanton why would we want another good hitting OF'er when we have Ackley?"

:suds:

Imagine a lineup with Cano, Cruz, Stanton and Seager in the middle of the order. Jesus.
Wouldn't that be something!?! Although, as I imagined that great middle of the order somehow Rodney entered my imagination right at the end and blew it.

Hahaha.

Rodney is an interesting closer. Even when he pitches well, he's still terrifying to watch. Overall, his stats were very impressive last year, but every time he goes out there, I get really nervous.

I love how are team is now playing, but let's us not forget that the guys producing are mainly rookies and 3-5 months of play does not make a star. Just remember Ackley's rookie season, then maybe adding a Stanton at the right price wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to the M's.

Hultzen
Paxton
Ackley
M. Saunders
Capps
Triunfel

I would be happy if we could get him for that, but I doubt highly Marlins would do it.

Oh ya, I remember this one well. How does that deal sound today...lol.

Shit, there isn't a package tempting enough in Seattle to rope in someone with more than enough home runs to set a precedent for this sorry franchise.

I say trade a bags off balls for him, but give him a minority stake in the ownership, stock with Microsoft and Amazon and then toss in part of the naming rights to the stadium. Giancarlo Stanton plays at what field some corporation buys the rights.

Trade the Mariners Organization along with SafeCo Field.

At this point, why act as if we give a shit about truly competing when JeDi's ego is too big to allow an actual manager manage the team.

So yeah, give Miami everything including the organization and stadium. Then we will start with Stanton and go from there.
