What is your definition of an AR?

Not to nit-pick and I really don't care. But I was curious. What is your definition on and AR? I see folks use the word AR a lot.

IMO...my definiton on and AR isn't a type of black rifle, it's actually a brand. Armalite. They are the ones that designed the rifle and named it AR. My primary hunting rifle is an Armalite AR-10A4. It has great stopping power, an 1"MOA, excellent craftmanship and great quality firearms.

its when you have a store and another company comes and purchases products from you from a purchase order, so they promise to pay later. the amount they owe you becomes your AR.

AR was made by Armalite which made the gun and used the 1st 2 letters of the company name for it.

It does not stand for Assault Rifle. I wonder what 99% of Americans think though on that.

Tideguy is right though the name has become a model number in some way now.
