He hasn't been at Redskins Park since 2/20 and now is missing the combine due to his grandmother passing away? Allegedly his grandmother passed away sometime last month. Granted its March 1 but something doesn't seem right here at all.

Allen better not be trying to run him off. SM has made some mistakes but he generally drafts well and has gotten us in the best cap situation we have had in years. Something is very bizarre here.

what is even more concerning is -- why is the public getting this info? We've been told he is focusing on scouting and yet the media is still messing with him. I'm telling you man, at some point you have to wonder is it Dan, is it Bruce....who leaks this stuff? who kills these leaks? This is not the type of stuff you want going on until July

Unbelievable. When I saw he wasn't at the combine due to the death of his grandmother more than a month ago it was obvious something is terribly wrong. Now I'm reading he was kicked out of Redskins Park weeks ago? With his history maybe dismissing Cooley's report was too quick, I mean it's not like he didn't come with risk of relapse.

Fuck. Excuse my French. But here we go again. IF this is true, then we are back to the Dan show with the stupid mind games and back door leaks that attempt to pave to road to get rid of a guy. Anyone remember the Zorn fiasco with the Bingo caller brought in to call plays?

If this is also true, we can say goodbye to KC and Gruden in the next 12 months.

The grandmother excuse is a joke. We all know what is going on, why not just cut him loose instead of this embarrassment?

Because to fire him now would mean that they would have to pay him and also admit they made a mistake in hiring him. Their warped view is that they need to make him look like the bad guy, his exit all his fault. In short, this is all about winning over the fans. They think we are a bunch of idiots that can't see through this shit. Who knows, maybe we are idiots for rooting for a team that is run by an incompetent, egomaniacal dwarf.

Sigh.

I hope that there is some reasonable explanation here. If not we are likely fucked as Redskins fans. Sure - there are some bumps in the road with SM as the GM, but this is at least the first time under Snyder that the organization is setup somewhat correctly (though perhaps not lately given Allen's ego). If they revert back to the previous type setup then the fans may just say screw it - we have had enough.

If they boot SM then a lot of the others things may not matter since it would appear to indicate yet another power play by the owner. I hope that this is just an overreaction at the current time, but it is kind of hard to ignore. We will see.

Would love to hear the Larry Michael "all is great at Redskins Park" explanation of this especially if SM doesn't show for a while.

Well again let's not forget the past, he was fired twice despite great success including by a very close friend. This was a gamble when he was signed, if his problem resurfaced again why is the organization to blame for distancing themselves and later possibly firing him? Granted it was clumsy, j_y made some good points. But simply saying he may be fired as another power play without recognizing his history is a bit unfair IMO.

Fair enough. However - would still not make this just as depressing. Let's say this is related to his personal conduct. Do we really think that Snyder will simply try to find a replacement in the same manner & still have a true GM? What would stop him from basically maintaining that he tried this method & it failed & God knows what type of advice he gets from Allen.

Damn - why can't this damn team just do things like the rest of the NFL? Always way too much drama.

Really hate seeing this quote from the Rotoworld reporter:

"McCloughan now ‘has nothing to do with anything and has not for a very long time.'"

Not sure if this is totally accurate. If so - this is pretty bad especially at this time of the year.

Perhaps if SM was the GM he use to be he would have saw the QB that KC could become and signed him last year to a fair contract. This team just can't get out of its own way. If things are really falling apart in our FO than I implore to you my fellow fans,,, stop getting excited bout any signing or hiring... cuz they just can't sustain it for very long.

Yep - screw it. I am going to focus on the Caps & Wizards. Both of them deserve a lot more attn. than the Redskins rt now.

More importantly, what potential GM would come here after seeing how SM was handled, even if his personal problems have resurfaced? Who knows, maybe SM is in rehab. But stop with the leaked personal attacks and treat the guy like a human that has flaws, as we all do.

We have been saying this going back to Marty days, what (fill in the blank) would ever work for Snyder? Then they all seem to put that aside and sign once he meets them and offers an insane deal?
