And leaves for another team instead of staying here for 200 million like everyone thinks?

Good or disaster?

At this point the pile of shit in ford field is so large, him shitting there wont make any difference. They need to get rid of all coaches even the fraud DC. Need a coach who actually wants to win.

So far the only thing making the playoffs has meant is just an extra, shitty Saturday or shitty Sunday.

He is finally not annoying me every weekend. I'd prefer to keep him.

As I said before, it's never a sure thing to go after a new QB.

Stafford threw for over 300 yards against Green Bay. Good QB's are hard to find.

The good thing for us, Dak Prescott looks to be the heir apparent to Romo.

If Staff were to stiff us(and I wouldn't blame him) he couldn't go to his favorite team. And might have to pick from a group of teams only slightly less sucky than the one he was obligated to play for in the first place.

We can tag him twice, so he can't leave for awhile. But I could see him bolting when he finally gets the chance. I would. This franchise is the worst in sports.

Two things going for us really, Dak and it can't really get worse.

We haven't won a playoff game in over two decades already.

What kind of fucked up rule is it where a player can lay down with his feet out of bounds and touch the ball inbounds for it to be a 37 yard penalty against the other team?

Disaster. It is worth paying him 20+ mil a year. He plays the most important position in football. I dont mind spending money on the QB position. Assuming he is the guy. I am still not sold yet. Will wait and see.

Oh man... if I had a dollar for every time I heard this about Cutler. Him and Stafford are very similar, IMO. They're just good enough where you don't want to dump them, but not good enough to win with unless you really surround them with A LOT of talent. Cutler won a lot here early on, and the Bears were at the brink of the Super Bowl in 2010. However, that D and running game was elite. Since then, it's really gone downhill. It appears there's a similar trend beginning in Detroit, after seeing your once feared defense leave town and Calvin retire.

Its tough. Those two will have stretches every year where you go; "Man... I think he's finally got it!"... They seem to always wind up letting you down.

And that's the sole playoff win since 1957!

There's never a guarantee, but this year seems to be one of Matt's best, and it probably has a lot to do with Jim Bob. Too bad the HC seems out of sync, like he's one level above where he needs to be, or perhaps he should be in the front office and not on the field. Playing with Peyton Manning helped his coaching credentials, but there aren't a lot of QB's of that mental caliber. Stafford needs direction and then can give direction, he needs to be coached up, not the other way around.

@richig07

I have gave Stafford props when deserving. I have also been one of his biggest critics. I said last year with defense and half decent run game he could win. I get that why you say that, IMO that statement fits quite a few QBs in the league. Peyton sure didn't deliver a SB trophy last year.

Just don't see a run game yet, or a defense in Detriot.

There's plenty of teams who would take him and overpay him. If the Lions had been bringing in QB depth it would be one thing, but that hasn't been happening. Keep him healthy, keep it so he believes in the Lions being 'his team' and maybe we get an equitable contract that allows cap space for the full team.
