Without Jim Haslett being handcuffed this year..I want to see a aggressive/attacking defense that swarms and get to opposing teams QB's, I want to see a defense that forces turnovers and collapses the pocket.

I think you will see that possibly Haslett wasn't that cuffed and he just doesn't have much to work with.

The Defense will be top 15 or better. Special teams will move up to average from horrid. My real concern is, does the hype machine of our offense live up to expectations.... and my guess is NOPE.

Partner it seems like you would like NaVorro Bowman, Patrick Willis and company. Hopefully the D will be better but I don't think it will be that good.

Who cares if they live up to the hype. One step at a time. I am not looking for a SB team - just a team that is better than last season - hopefully at least 8-8. Haven't we as Redskins fans learned to just ignore expectations? Just take it as it comes & enjoy whatever good happens. You sound like you are already setting yourself up for disappointment. What fun is that?

My hope for offensive improvement would be 1.) RG3 has improved & addressed several of his weaknesses - not necessarily looking for a pro-bowl QB this season but rather a solid one 2.) offensive line shows some improvement such that the QB is at risk much less often 3.) receivers learn to gel with RG3 & the each other, but I would caution that this will take time & 4. Offensive benefits from better field position due to better STs & as a result puts more pts on the board.

If most of this happens I would be relatively happy although - like most folks - I will never be satisfied until the Skins make a deep run (which may take a few years).

Socal... my point is or was simply this. Everyone has been so harsh when it comes to Haslett, but if you look at it considering what he has had to work with in trying to fit a bunch of 4-3 players to fit into a 3-4 defense we should all be amazed we have not finished historically worst in the league over the last four years. We have sunken most of the time and resources into the offense over the last four years for the most part. Now that the defense has actually gotten some love, I expect them to be improved. The offense I think is going towards the more flash than substance variety. But thats just me.

Fair enough. Let's just view this as a clean slate & evaluate everyone on what they do during the upcoming season. The defense actually should at least have a decent amt of talent (needs more work but it should not be terrible). A lot of questions will be answered this year.

shark i have been harsh on haslett because his career record says he is mediocre

now if shanny handcuffed him then that should come out this year . i believe now that shanny did indeed handcuff him

he has better talent now (not great ) so we will see . i expect a defense that hovers around middle of the pack

as for the offense i dont see this huge turn around . the issue is RG3 i think je is healthy now but i question his accuracy until i see his mechanics until i see it in games . the other thing is do you think he will master this offense in year one ? i dont . the other thing is reading defenses has he studied enough to know what defense are doing to him ? holding the ball or running often tell me he hasnt . again until i see it in games it is still a question

i see 6 wins . i hope for more i hope haslett turns the defense loose . i hope he succeeds but the defense has holes at ILB and in the secondary especially at safety and i wont hold him to accountable because he is missing 5 good parts

Yup, this matches my take. But like Shark already mentioned, I can't see how we can't improve on STs. That will be worth a few games right there. Kotwica seems legit.
