Yeah, this isn't happening. Teams are not losing out on that potential revenue.Never happen...
Hard pass. But it should given the gravity of the situation.
No, the Eagles would slaughter. Also the Eagles would play a game on January 8th and then wouldn't play another game until January 29th. That completely fucks over the Eagles to have that much downtime and then jump into the playoffs. That's just asking for a completely sloppy and rusty performance.
The most fair scenario is call that game a tie and move on.
I'd disagree - come out and look rusty having not played any meaningful games in 2 weeks, and the angst would be real that they were "forced" to sit for 2 weeks...No, the Eagles would slaughter.
More time to plan, more film consumed. It's probably an unfair advantage for a coaching staff and team as smart as the Eagles.
Revenue is what could drive the league to force a neutral field..... At least one franchise is going to feel screwed out of revenue of a playoff game. Having the game at a neutral site would split the revenue between the two franchises (with some kickback going to the stadium).Yeah, this isn't happening. Teams are not losing out on that potential revenue.
It is what it is - Bengals/Bills will finish with 16 games, and winning% will be used to break any ties - Bengals and Bills kind of get the shaft, but it could be way worse - giving every one else a free bye week and forcing them to make up the game only punishes the teams directly involved further while benefiting everyone else - makes zero sense in that aspect, not to mention any logistic issues.
It's not a perfect solution - but there isn't one to begin with. I think this just happens to be the cleanest way forward.
After the Cowboys, I root for the Bengals on the AFC side. It does screw them over on a way, but I think they have the team to go get it done. The playoff matchups that would worry me are not KC or Buffalo, they will be up for them. For a young team I would worry more about laying an egg as a favorite.Yeah, this isn't happening. Teams are not losing out on that potential revenue.

What about getting a QB, RT, DE, DT, FS, and NB all back healthier? How rusty would you feel then with a quarter of the starters back at full strength?I'd disagree - come out and look rusty having not played any meaningful games in 2 weeks, and the angst would be real that they were "forced" to sit for 2 weeks...
No way I'd be happy sitting for 2 weeks unless I was missing a star player, or two, and they were guaranteed to return by then at 100%....even then.....outside of it being a QB - not sure I'd want 2 full weeks off.
No problem with a two week rest. Who gives a fuck. College players rest for like 4 weeks before Bowl games. It's not a problem.
Actually, the best post was in the other thread, that Hamlin seems to be recovering with no neurological damage.NFL making the easy decision.

Lol why even get the bye if it's better to have just played the week before?
Not if you add an extra playoff team...This seems to be the best plan.
Only problem...the Eagles & Chiefs will have two weeks inactive. Built in excuse for fans.
Still can't wait.
Sorry Phil, can not support awarding an extra playoff spotNot if you add an extra playoff team...

Keyboard is your best friend. You are a remarkably dumb fan. A week of rest is nice. When that turns into 3 weeks until the team plays a game then that turns into a negative.
