No, you seem to be illogical in your thought process. I understand completely what you are saying about being a passing team.....however.....as a passing team, it sure would be nice to have a qb that can actually....you know......pass. This offense suffers with Andy at qb and something has to be done to cover that. The Bengals have shown they can run the ball when they commit to it and it can definitely be improved upon. If you believe there is simply nothing can be done to help the run game, what is your suggestion on what the offense does? Cross our fingers and hope Andy gets better?
Nobody is arguing Andy's issues. And nobody is arguing that it would be easy to replace him. It's not happening.
That said, simply reinventing the offense as a run-based offense will be difficult with the other pieces we have. I'm not sure why that is so hard to understand or believe.
Which games have we shown the ability to run the ball when we commit to it? Yes we did it late against San Diego the fist time and yes we had a big day against Indy's suspect D. I didn't see much evidence for the running attack the rest of the year and PFF number suggest we weren't good at it.
Remember what our offense looked like last time we were a top 10 rushing attack? It was 2009.
The point is that we need to continue to use the assets that the offense has..... Good receivers, pass catching tight ends and an explosive running back. If Hue can hide Andy's liabilities better than Jay, he'll be doing his job. If he simply runs the ball into the line over and over again, he will not be doing his job.
