There's always going to be good plays and bad. I could also say the running game was responsible for at least 3 first downs with big plays.
Two of those plays happened on one drive (Mason, then Austin). The Rams proceeded to throw the next 3 plays out of the shotgun (incomplete deep to Cook, dump-off to Mason for 3, incomplete short to Cook) and punt. Way to take two solid plays, then remove any threat of another run. At least take the snap under center and use play-action...
I agree, but our line isn't very good, when we do make a big run it's the result of good running by Gurley, or Mason, or Austin, it's rarely because the line created a hole!
It doesn't help that the screen pass is non existent in our playbook! Sure seems to work well for other teams?
