Our defense has the chance to be one of the top 3-4 in the country. They are infinitely improved at getting pressure on the qb, and at stopping the run. Having everybody healthy has a lot to do with that.

Striker will be playing on Sundays. Even when he doesn't get credit for a sack he's usually involved in creating it. He's also doing a lot to shut down the perimeter game on his side as well.

Knight continues to improve a little each week. He's looking really good, but not like a super star every week yet. Hard to complain about 299 yds, 20/33, 2 TD, and one int that really wasn't his fault.

However, if they're going to run the zone read they need to let him pull the ball back a few more times. They weren't respecting that at all, which did set up Knight's rushing TD.

Can't tell if Heupel is reverting to form or if he's trying not to open the play book any more than he absolutely has to. It looked like he pretty much shut it after the third TD.

Durron Neal, KJ Young, and Bell are providing knight receiving options other than Shepard. Bell has some good hands.

There is still room for improvement on offense and that's not a bad thing.

I won't know anything until next week.

I'll have a good idea where we're headed after that game.

Right Now I like our Offense with Sims. Amari Cooper is having a huge year. But our defense is terrible our secondary is God Awful if it werent for other teams dropping wide open passes we would be a lot worse statistically. On special teams we finally have a good kicker, which could be huge later in the year. But right now if we dont improve on defense we will lose to Ole Piss, get blown out by aTm, and lose to Auburn or Lsu . Right now we are a 9-3 team.

I know we can't beat South Carolina in Columbia. Haven't since 2008.

We did snap a 9 game stretch of scoring 20 or fewer points in Columbia though.

Our starting OT is smaller than our QB. Our entire O-Line is weaker than most JV squads. Swoopes is actually playing decent, and kid has a rocket arm.

I think we may be able to beat Kansas.

Although I see a lot of improvement in the defense from last year, I am sweating the Arkansas game in a couple of weeks...or is Tech that bad at stopping the run?

I know we have the talent on the team to compete in the pac. Win it? Hell no.

I'd like to see at least 5 wins in conference play. 9-4 not a bad year for a coaches first year after the team lost most of its starters at the skill positions. QB, RB, TE, etc...

We have a very nice front 7 on d and they came together this last game, it really helped our secondary out, which they need because they are so young and inexperienced.

Considering that point and the fact we are in the pac12, a conference laden with all star caliber qbs my hopes of 5 conference wins may be aiming high, but we'll see.

There are probably high school teams in Texas that could beat Kansas, they are horrid...actually look worse than last year.

Correct. And there are probably HS teams that could beat Texas right now with our putrid offensive line.

Also, Malcolm Brown is the best DT nobody is talking about. 17 tackles and 3.5 sacks in last 2 games, vs BYU and UCLA - being double teamed almost every snap. This kid may warrant a 1st Round NFL selection after his junior year.

The playbook will open up starting next week against W. Virginia, and I expect Knight will start keeping the ball more on the zone read. I feel we have been playing close to the vest to open the season which is something we have done previous seasons.

We have very talented WR's, a decent defense, but a very inexperienced and young O-line that simply isn't very good.

That is a bright spot for you, those young players will get better and gain experience every week. Tenn. may be pretty tough next year, 2016 should be a really good year for the Vols.

And a QB that is tough as nails.
