Sadly, it was Simpson breaking the 2000 rushing yard mark in 1973

Chicago Bears/New York Giants NFL Championship game. Y. A. Tittle quarterbacking the Giants against Bill Wade and a fierce Bears defense. The Bears won 14-10. I rooted for the Bears. 1963; I was 10 years old. I didn't know any better.

This is mine too. YA Tittle's last hurrah. I was 9 and rooting for the Giants.

Honestly it's hard to remember. My dad watched whatever games were on every Sunday; we didn't have a local team, so I didn't grow up living or dying with one team's fortunes. Games didn't really stand out.

I do remember watching the 79 Superbowl, because my older brother wanted the Steelers to win, so I pulled for the cowboys. I think after that game is when I really started to follow players and teams

I also recall dad taking me to a Skins game that must have been in 1963 too, because I remember asking dad why the crowd was booing so much. He told me they were booing the QB who was Norm Snead at the time. He was traded to the Eagles for Jurgensen before the 64 season so that must have been 63.

1964 Memorial stadium watching Baltimore take on the Bears. Really didn't know what was happening but my uncle had tickets and we went.
I still don't remember much about it except getting a pennant. Was the only football team I knew of then. Liked Baseball more.

Lombardi led Packers
Yeah. We were at my Mother's Mom's apartment, a 3rd story walkup in Brooklyn, NY. The women were always down in the kitchen at one end, and the guys were in the far end in the living room. This was sometime in the 1950s. It was a Green Bay game. I don't remember who else was playing.

I lived in New York at the time. I was not a Giants fan, and when the Jets came along I didn't care much for them either. My Dad actually liked the Raiders, back in the Stabler years. I guess I became a Packers fan by default, until years later when I moved outside of Boston and fell in love with the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox.

My first real NFL memory was the infamous Bert Emanuel play in the NFC Championship. It would be a couple years before I became a regular NFL viewer, but this moment sticks out in my mind because I couldn't understand why that wasn't a catch even after my grandfather explained it to me.
