Great beer, probably my favorite from Founders.

KBS gets the hype but I prefer a lot more barrel aged imperial stouts to it. I've had CBS a few times and it really doesn't live up to its ridiculous hype to me. Backwoods Bastard is the beer for me that has the best balance of rich bourbon with the sweetness of the scotch ale.
Until I tried the Central Waters barrel aged Scotch Ale that I posted earlier, Backwoods Bastard was the top of that list for me. They're both great though. Good choice.
I got a couple ridiculous boxes today:

Just stupid. The smaller bottles are Firestone Walker wild ales which are amazing. Black Tuesday is a 19% bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. Mash is a barrel aged barleywine. And that Wineification is a collaboration with a California winery that is a blend of Black Tuesday and Petite Syrah that is much more like a deep rich red wine. I was shocked to see that bottle. You had to have belonged to the Bruery's Hoarders Society (spend about $1500/year with them) and you could buy 2 bottles.
Anyway, the 2nd box was from the midwest:

I'm drinking the Jackie O's Oil of Aphrodite now. It's good, but I would have liked more of the walnuts to come through to cut some sweetness. I know they do some barrel aged variations so maybe those are better in that respect.
I do trade beer but this is part of a haul for winning a pool over the baseball season. I won 28 boxes of beer from people all over the country. It's been ridiculousDid you get those through a swap or from some sort of high end beer club? Nice haul regardless.

Minimum was 44oz. Everyone goes above and beyond that. Definitely all high end stuff. It's from Talkbeer.com. Nobody's sending swill if they're on that forum.Must be nice, 28 boxes, 6 per box? All high end by the looks of it. I need to find one of those pools.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Dry Riesling
best value for a $6 bottle i've ever seen. don't get white wine often, but if i do, it has to have near zero residual sugar. bone dry.
