We've got a Virtual Beer Dinner tonight. A local brewpub is putting this on. We get four courses for two people, plus beers for each course. It's all takeout, but while we eat they have a live Zoom with the chef and head brewer explaining what we've got.

Other restaurants do the same sort of thing with wines.

We always like the dinners, and it's a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something you'd never order off the menu.

One of the breweries I like in southeast Ohio did something similar, just without the video, last year. I think every Friday they would have a choice of 2 or 3 meals. You'd get 2 meals, and a crowler of a beer for some set price. I'm too far away to try it, though

First course, Caramelized Pear and Ricotta Toast, with. A Pomegranate Kettle Sour.

Second course, Barley and Roasted Squash Salad, paired with a Southern Delaware Later.

Third course, Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Meatloaf, paired with a hazy double IPA.

Fourth course, Dark Chocolate Pavlova.

Good pairings. Food was delicious and the beers went well with each course. We were stuffed after the main course so the dessert will be saved for tonight.

These dinners are a great way to increase business, for people who either don't want to go out to eat or people who just won't fit inside. It greatly elevates the art of takeout.

Got some good news yesterday. Delaware is about the only place that doesn't allow wineries to ship to customers, but some wineries will ship to a UPS store just over the border in Maryland, and you don't have to have a PO box there. So the GF just ordered wine again.

Massachusetts used to have the same bullshit rules. But, when Drew Bledsoe retired from football, he bought a California winery. Then he personally went to Massachusetts and lobbied the Legislature and got the law changed.

Went to Glenbrook brewery in Morristown last night, opened last week......nice space inside, only had a few beers so far, IPA, Ale and a Porter.....The Porter was the best, great service, real nice staff and I hope they do well.....Godfather restaurant is right across the street if you want to bring food in..... @navamind
