The kid has the intangibles. What do you think? He's raw and could use holding the clipboard but he has the physical tools. What say you?

He is probably one of the hardest players to predict in this draft. Yes he showed huge potential in the Playoff run and yes he has a great skill set but we also saw him struggle like crazy and benched this year. I can see why you pick McNabb as somewhat similar build but McNabb was a 4 year starter in college so a lot more polished player and even then he still struggled for a few years. To me Cardale is the type of guy that it will take 4 years before you see what you have. Can you wait on a guy that long to develop?
Agreed 100%... What if hes a 3rd or 4th rounder? The steelers are stuck with a shitty Landry Jones as a 2nd stringer and right now I would rather have cardale as my backup than Landry.
I'm thinking 5th round or later honestly. Like I said at best you are hoping that he can start year 3 for you. Then you have to account to probably a year of adjusting to actually playing in the game so most likely what you have is a guy that year 4 of his 4 year deal becomes a viable starter for your team right before he has to get paid big money. I just watched this with the Broncos and Osweiler where he was a very raw prospect that should have stayed another year in college. I still don't think he is ready as all that raw potential doesn't mean much when it comes to the mental side of the game and that is where I think guys like Jones and Osweiler will always struggle.
Depending where the Broncos draft him I wouldn't mind Jones being drafted as like I said he has a physical skill set you have to love but I would put him busting at around 90%.
Yeah but Bruce Arians isn't the kind of guy who wants to deal with projects. The best possible spot for him is Arizona. Going there, learning behind Palmer, then getting plugged into an offense with those vertical threats. He could be a stud, no doubt, but he needs a good couple years of polish. The good news is, he wants to learn and get better, and that attitude will help.
Youre probably right. Im an OU fan so his success doesnt mean crap to me lol
I was just thinking about his potential since the biggest talk is Wentz and Goff. I thought he could make all the throws and somewhat read the defenses from the Big10. If I were a Gm and I would looking for a future possible QB, I would take him serious. Maybe like the Cowboys? or maybe even the Eagles. Like you said, theres no doubt that the kid has the skills.

Can't be that bad, could he?More like Akili Smith, part 2.
To your last two sentences...agree, and yes.
If he makes that far, IMO he will be a better QB in his 2nd contract than his rookie deal.
Assuming he's taken in the 3rd rd or later...Teams like PIT, AZ, DAL...your starter has maybe 3 yrs left, topside 4....that's a little early to invest a 1st rounder on the heir apparent because you'd be facing a huge option yr with not much to justify it.
I won't write him off just yet.Absolutely. The only difference is that Jones won't be an earlier draft pick.
I'm not saying he isn't draftable and some team like Pitt, AZ, or Dallas probably do take that kind of chance in the later rounds if he is still there. My guess is though some team will look at his physical attributes and fall in love and draft him a round or two earlier than some think. I could easily see him being a 2nd round guy still with some coach convincing the GM that he can turn this kid into a star. He then will be expected to start earlier than he is probably ready and what I have seen is way too often especially at the QB position players are thrown into the fire way too quickly and just can't handle it. I look at a guy like Brady or Rodgers that had a bit of time to develop and see what they have turned into. I honestly don't think they are the same player they are today without that time on the bench learning.
