Is there anyone on the 49ers coaching staff who has connections to Holmgren? In the sense that if he was hired in Dallas he'd offer them a better job, for example hiring Donatell as a defensive coordinator.

It's always hard to say that you can be sure that there is no relationship between two individuals because all coaches have close relationships with other coaches that they've never worked with before. These are the connections that I can recall that he has:

Seely worked with Holmgren in Cleveland when he was there, though Seely is already the assistant head coach of the 49ers, in addition to being STs coach, so I'm not sure what kind of offer Holmgren could give him to leave. Unless he left when his contract expired.

49ers assistant STs coach Tracy Smith also coached for Cleveland under Holmgren.

49ers WRs coach John Morton played part of the 1993 season for the Green Bay Packers when Holmgren was head coach (2nd season).

49ers OL coach Mike Solari was the Seahawks OL coach for two seasons, one of which came under Holmgren. That might be the biggest one.

49ers special assistant Bill Nayes is another. He was the Football Operations Coordinator/Team Travel with the Seahawks from 99-06. His 49ers bio says he was responsible for all aspects of the team’s travel, including the budget, team charters, hotel accommodations, meal arrangements and ground transportation. He also organized the Seahawks’ training camp and mini-camps, as well as the team’s operational schedules.

He was originally hired full-time by the Packers in 1997 after serving as a training camp intern during the summers of 1995 and 1996. He worked under Holmgren as Administrative Assistant/Football Operations until 1999.
