lol. No way in hell Jimmy g is an upgrade over Wentz. Jimmy G would have cost more in draft capital and more in contract. So you are totally wrong on that account. Wentz has way more upside than Jimmy g, plus jimmy g is coming off a major surgery. You gotta be kidding me with Jimmmy G.

Watson is the best qb out there no doubt but we dont know what future will be. Way too risky
Perhaps reading and understanding what I actually wrote is the issue.

Not once did I give the impression that either Jimmy G or Wentz was better or worse than one another except when it comes to leadership. It is interesting that you are making great efforts to avoid that obvious shortcoming in Wentz.

So you're wrong because I never wrote what you're responding to.

Watson has been criminally cleared, feared risk is now minimal if there's any at all. Scared people are often generally frozen into inaction or at best, feckless in response to situations that require energy equal to that which comes with strength of character. Washington could have gotten him for far less than it's going to cost now, and in that vein it will be another test of character to see if they even have the nerve to compete for him.

Give me the more talent QB any day. Forget Jimmy G. If he was this great leader you are talking about why did the 49ers make a huge trade last year to get their QB who they have no idea what kind of leader he is going to be. Stop with the bullshit. This was the best deal for us b/c we had no idea we could of even landed a FA QB and would had to rely on a rookie. Forget Watson. If Watson was your #1 plan for QB going into this off season you are delusional.

Our plan was Wilson first than Wentz. Fans should be happy that we have a real starting NFL QB for Week 1. But of course people on here who want to see the team lose will bash it.

Once again you want to change the subject then respond to something unwritten except by you.

Where on earth did you get the idea that Jimmy G was a GREAT leader.?

There is zero evidence that Wentz has the same, or greater LEADERSHIP qualities than Jimmy G. In fact there's zero evidence that Wentz is a leader, especially as a QB at all. This is the 3rd time that I'm offering you a chance to refute that fact.

If the plan was Wilson then all the way down to a desperate settling for a leadership deficient Wentz, then that alone tells you how awful this organization is at building a team.

If you want to know what settling looks like just reread your last 2 lines in the post that I'm responding to.

No one wants to see this team lose sir, we all know quite well what that looks like, in fact we've almost all become painfully proficient in what that looks like. Wentz has gone to 3 teams in 3 years, exactly what do you believe that we're really getting that the other two teams failed to realize?

We are getting a better QB than anybody on our roster, FA, and the draft. That is what I think we are getting. Should help the team win.

Considering the lack of leadership qualities, there is a gigantic question about whether or not this team believes in Carson Wentz! That is a very real factor in deciding if he gets the backing necessary to get the wins that you refer to.

In fact, I will go one better than that... with the addition of Wentz, there are now huge questions about this team following Ron Rivera.

That is the beauty of this deal. If he fails there is no gmoney for 2023. So ther is no long term risk Lets see what happens in FA. If safety, LB, and oline get resolved. The draft should be interesting. Yes, with the Collins release and restructure Wentz deal we will be in the top half of the league for cap space.

Any chance we picked Wentz up as trade bait for Watson? Now that Watson has been cleared of any criminal charges, the bidding will begin.

yeah so we gave up 2 draft picks for a expensive one year rental ? that would be a foolish waste . of resources .

Its not a one year rental if he plays well. If he doesnt play well there is no gmoney. Its worth the risk b/c We had NO QB!

Wentz fukn sux nuts and obviously NOT a leader of men. What a total fuk up to bring this guy in here. He has character issues, leadership issues and he is definitley NOT the tier of QB RR talked about "swinging for the fences" for. I would have rather drafted a rookie and suffered through the experience factor than watch Wentz this year. He is the guy everyone hated when we played Philly, why the fuk would you even root for this guy? I'm totally disappointed this was the guy brought in and wish him nothing but bad games, bad throws and all losses until he is replaced hopefully by week 8. As a matter of fact, I hope we are so bad, RR & Co are given their pink slip at years end along with Wentz!! Since Wentz is on our team that will be all I cheer for this season. Sorry, cannot help it but this was a total garbage desperate move by RR.

It most certainly will be a 1 year rental of garbage. The guy has huge character flaws and shouldn't have been brought in. TH and a rookie would have gone over much better. At some point folks have to start questioning Rivera's ability to build a team because so far, he has been clueless.

Draft a rookie to pair with Wentz and TH, and then the qb situation COULD BE solved long term.

Wentz is either good or not this year, but TH could mop up or spot start. If wentz is good, the rookie sits.

I was right that the Football team wanted trubisky, and I am now predicting that they’ll draft a qb in either the first or second round.

I approve of that move too, especially if they trade down to get more picks and then draft a qb.

And, for all the negative nancies on this thread, I dont like the Wentz deal.

I don't know if I am right or wrong here. One reason we might not have heard from Wentz yet is the deal is not official until the league you begins. I could be wrong but I don't remember Wilson saying anything publicly about being in Denver.

I kind of lean away from a qb in round one now but you are right about us taking a rookie somewhere

We did swing for the fences trying to get Wilson. RR and company is probably not high on this years QB draft class and that is why the move was made. Plus you don't know what QB would fall to #11. Pickett and Willis could be gone. Plus you don't know if any FA qb would want to sign with us. Wentz is a capable QB. I think you are over reacting bit but if you don't like Wentz so be it. Everyone has an opinion.
