I'd pull his scholarship and suspend him for (at least) half the season. Let him pay for the next year of tuition and work with the team as a walk-on. If he proves he deserves it, he can earn his scholarship back.

So, they saw a unique opportunity to steal some bikes and sell them but it would have appeared UNL took them on account of the sign posted if they had not been caught, did I read that right? In theory it's not really a bad plan, just poor execution, pun intended
