Beltre has been so frustrating this season. Jesus guy, see a few pitches.

Beltre needs to be more selective. All year he's swung at more garbage than he normally does. Terrible AB.

He seems totally lost up there- no approach, no battling, swinging at terrible pitches, flat-out missing center of the zone pitches... doesn't resemble the Beltre we all know.

Joey Gallo 9th inning bomb to win it... what odds do you give it? Less than 5%?

Unfortunately, yes. Although I would say that MY's issue was more declining skill whereas Beltre's appears to be a mental thing.

Was referring more to the way that he has games where he just seems to kill any potential rally.

Here is the story - no comment.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Regardless of his struggles at Triple-A, Joey Gallo is going to get a chance to prove himself to Rangers manager Jeff Banister during his September callup.
Gallo started for the second straight game in left field Friday over veteran Will Venable.

“I’d like to try to get his bat going,” Banister said. “We don’t need for him to be in the middle of our lineup, so there is not as much pressure on him. His bat can be a game-changer. His bat is real threat. But it can just be a threat. If the threat isn’t real, we will go in another direction, but I’m willing to look and see if we can get him going.”

Gallo struck out in all three of his at-bats on Wednesday in San Diego – on just 10 pitches – and was pinch hit for late in the game.

“One game is not going to be the determining factor for me,” Banister said.

Going back to his time in the majors in June, Gallo has seven strikeouts in his last eight at-bats. Dating back to June 17, Gallo entered Friday with 28 strikeouts in his last 44 major league at-bats. Gallo hit .195 with 14 homers and 90 strikeouts in 200 at-bats at Round Rock after he was sent down.

Never liked the long hair look in baseball. Hockey? Absolutely. Baseball? No.

Not sure he'll be hitting home runs at any lesser of a rate, but yeah probably less than 5%.

I really don't think this is the game where you give LJ a try. Have Freeman or Diek to face Poophole if Trout gets on. AP has not hit LHers this year

That's exactly what he needs. It doesn't have to be a HR, but his confidence needs a boost.

well he did walk and score, so there is that
