i don't see this happening. you are going to see Ott at 1st and probably 3rd but if you believe that Wash is going to bench MY in favor of player with absolutely no major league experience and prone to the strikeout you are dreaming. Olt will serve the same purpose that snyder did but with a better bat

We'll see ... but the playing time he gets is going to come out of someone's hide and MY is the only candidate. There would be no reason to activate him if he wasn't going to get serious playing time. Can't put a AA guy on the bench and give him a couple of ABs a week like Snyder was getting and expect anything when he is called on.

You don't start the guy's service clock and use up Colby's move to the 60day DL to give him a 40man spot ... and then have him sit. We'll see.

His trade value was already as high as its going to be for now. In fact bringing him up could possibly hurt his trade value.

If he proves he is ready to step in and play 3rd, 1st, w/e everyday in the Majors... wouldnt his value increase?

Right now its just speculation. If its proven then its a different story and value increases.

Well if Olt plays 3B, who do you think is going to get the DH ABs? Beltre or Young? My Vote is Beltre

Luckily, for Young, if he plays 1B/DH (which isn't a given yet) against LHPs, Moreland would just sit the bench and Young could still play 1B/DH

But the point remains, no reason to call up Olt if he isn't going to play at least 50% of the time and Wash has been told this

Now Young won't be the only PT victim, I think he'll play in place of just about anyone who's position he can play; COF, CIF, & DH, if they aren't playing well at the time

i dont have a problem with lowe, he CAN be lights out when hes on. obviosly the torrealba hate was legit since they dfa'd him. cant argue that one, even you.

as for MY, he isnt a middle of the lineup hitter anymore on this team, his numbers show that

If I didn't have prior commitments for tonight, I would round up a few tickets for the game just to get to see his debut in person. I'll definitely be recording the game on tv though. With the Ranger debuts of Dempster, Soto, and Olt, the amazing comeback last night, and the match-up against their former self-centered teammate, the Rangers have to be riding high on adrenaline right about now.

Am okay with that ... and bet we see Dempster/Soto paired the rest of the way. But I don't think that means MY has a lock on being DH.

The odd man out in this mix could be Gentry unless TEX reactivates the Gentry/Murphy platoon. The thing is ... since there are alternatives for COF (Moreland, Olt) ... then makes sense right now for Murphy to DH and Gentry in CF.

And MY watch.

This is a good point that I had thought about as well

I think Soto gets about 2-3 games behind the plate a week

And Napoli COULD play 1B if something came up, and swap Naps to C and we have plenty of guys that can play 1B
