One of the ways that McVay can do better for the team is to teach himself the Jumbo and practice it often in his offense so they can implement it during a game. But nooooo, McVay still doesn't understand the subtleties of Buddy Ryan's 46 defense and when teams start loading the box with 6-8 man fronts with multiple blitz packages, you have to know how to immediately switch into the Jumbo and he has NOT done any of this to date.

Another strategy McVay and Goff can do on the fly to better the offense is when the 6-8 man front comes, audible into a quick pass play to a receiver just behind the 6-8 players in the box to get the ball out of the QB's hands as quickly as possible. Still another play that can be run is a quick pitch run play to get the ball out of the QBs hands as quickly as possible. The short passing game and the quick-hitting run plays become paramount with 6-8 man fronts.

Nope, have not seen any audibles by Goff for a very long time or any quick-hitting plays much either. No, McVay wants to throw the damn deep ball or crossing pattern when the defense isn't permitting it and as the Dolphins showed him, the blitz removes the time to do that. Did he take any of this into account? Nope, not a bit.
