4-3 Fellas...it doesn't feel great and it doesn't feel bad either.
Assuming nothing out of the ordinary happens in practice, we get Ben back this week for the 2nd DIV game of the year vs the undefeated Bengals.
Injuries...Gay (shoulder) is the new name here, possible he could miss his 1st NFL game ever. Boykin could get his 1st start as a Steeler. Tuitt (knee)...if they took that much time Shazier, I guess it makes sense here too...sounds iffy. Allen (ankle)...I don't expect him back this week...Golden wasn't bad I heard last week. Hopefully @FaCe-LeE-uS will give us some locally flavored updates later.
Week 8
Steeler OFC...okay, Ben's back, but AV needs shake off the strip sack and be ready for this week...Johnson has been fairly quiet for them in the sack dept (I'll be interested to see how many times Spaeth is helping on the left side)...Dunlap plays the LDE I think, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not getting a few reps on the RDE spot...I like the matchup with Gilbert...he might give up one, I don't see him getting dominated...but Foster has to help Wallace and vice versa...they can't have a bad game vs Atkins who seems to be back to beast mode.
OL play was not terrible in KC...so I don't expect them to be terrible at home...if Ben is reasonably sharp, I think the OFC will do okay...Bengals backend D is solid, but not to be feared. My thinking is Bell and DWil need to carry the load in this game...pound the rock, shorten the game...take your shots downfield when you can but don't get into a shootout type game.
Steeler DEF...This one is on the front 7...the Bengals have 5 or 6 legit weapons Eifert and AJ are at the top of the league rankings...also great balance with 2 RBs that could start for nearly every team in the league. That makes them hard to predict. If they don't speed up Dalton's clock the back end is not going to hold up...really curious to see how Butler plays this game, imo, he cannot sit back in this one.
Outlook...On paper it looks like a wipe out at first glance...but, when you start breaking down the Bengals games...OAK, SD, BAL, KC, SEA, BUF with back up QB...to their credit they beat them all, but none of the teams have played as well thru 7 weeks as PIT even though 2 of them beat the Steelers. I'm sure they were amped up for SEA and they were getting spanked in that game before going on a spurt.
I like the Steelers to kind of stun a few people and bounce back at home...23-20.
