I have no expectations in this game with no pass rush and no running game this week. the Chiefs appear to be weaker than in the past few years but they certainly have the 49ers' number. I expect that to continue this week

The Chiefs have a penchant for snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat and the 49ers have a penchant for snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Yes, this has happened enough times or nearly happened, to make us think this way.

That said I feel the 49ers will win in a high scoring game. Limit your own mistakes and don't worry about what the Chiefs can do. Limit mistakes in all three phases, and we have enough talent to win.

Positive thinking. I forgot to mention the huge advantage KC has in coaching. Reid shows his key players that he trusts them. Shanahan shows his key players that he does not trust them.

Yeah ok, coaching advantage to Reid but no sure its huge? It just feels like Shanahan is better for 3-1/2 quarters, but Reid has the advantage over 4? But the 4th being the main point where you need coaching, ok Reid has proven his advantage.

Regarding trust in his key players, its not easy for Shanahan because all the skill players on offense are key? So depending on the opponent and what each are doing that game, it might appear he's not trusting someone. What I don't get is his "distrust" of rookies or 2nd year players better than old vets? Devondre Cambell is the first example that comes to mind, he shouldn't be starting.

yeah, he's awful. Greenlaw was a huge loss

I am astonished that Vegas has the Niners as 2.5 point favorites. I wonder what they ae basing that on; certainly not past performance

Juju is questionable. Chiefs are running out of skill players.

Home field advantage is usually 3 points.

It is also based on KC's struggles over scoring, but at the same time, the 49er defense hasn't been consistent.

The KC defense still looks good, so we'll see how our offense goes in the RZ?

If we don't turn it over including on STs, and avoid big penalties like personal fouls, i think we get a close win similar to 2-3 points. This team is good enough to win all games as long as the 49er mistakes are eliminated.

Good. Now if only Mahomes would get the flu and not recover until Monday
Mahomes will get his plays because, that is just Mahomes, but don't give him long TD's plays. Make them earn it and hopefully our RZ defense can force more field goals.

Or they don't give up a huge kick return like they have in every game so far this year

Mahomes doesn't throw long TD passes. He breaks your spirit with 3rd and 15 scrambles or avoiding multiple sack attempts and then completing some nonsense to a wide open Kelce.

haaaa, like Purdy.

The way to win is to limit your own mistakes, while Mahomes and the Chiefs D are good, a mistake free 49er team is better.

Granted, the Niners have been hit by the injury bug, but that isn’t an excuse (it MAY be an explanation, however).

Niners just aren’t an elite team this year.

The vibe with this team has been off since training camp. The holdouts of Williams and Aiyuk and the mysterious injury to McCaffrey. This was bt far the worst I've seen Purdy play but I think a lot of it was missing Samuel, Jennings and Aiyuk. Purdy's throws depend a lot on anticipation of where the receiver is going to be and he does not have that type of connection with the scrubs yet.

The D gave the 49ers a shot but Purdy threw that away. Shanahan got out coached again and Mahomes started to Mahomes in the second half.

Unfortunately, they are not. We thought the defense would be improved mainly because of Floyd but also because of the improved secondary. But they are just not an elite defense.

We wouldn't expect ST's to be bad but they are. We just want ST's to be "even", meaning don't give up anything and its ok if you don't get any.

IMO the SB hangover is real and that's the excuse I'm adding on here. Not unusual for the 49ers to start off slow, but add the hangover. We don't like slow starts but there's a track record, problem is we now need a good winning streak again.

They are poorly coached as well. And it starts from the top with Shanahan who coaches scared in the 4th quarter. He coaches not to lose like he doesn't trust his players in the 4th quarter. The defensive philosophy is horrible too. there is no aggression and no strategy at all to the pass rush. To just sit back and hope for an offensive mistake is a losing proposition. No team blows more 4th quarter leads than the 49ers and I think its because they change their style of play in that quarter. They forget what got then to the lead in the first place
