This game was pathetic offensively, defensively and ST.

Offense took way to long to get going again. Defense was terrible most of the game, and ST was a joke.

What an ill prepared team this week, and that is all on McVay and the coaching staff.

I hate this bend but don't break defense. In the long run it won't work. RAMS lost the battle of Time of possession and total yards to a winless team on the road. RAMS could of lost this one easily. RAMS just don't put any pressure on the QB. They finally did on that pick in the End zone. See what happens when you get to the QB? 6-1 now. Hope the RAMS just took the Lions lightly. The defense did look good against the Giants.

This was the Lions super bowl. Their special team was A++ today. Reminded me of what we had to do under Fisher. Hats off to the Lions. Now it’s on to the Texans who might be worse

I would like to see more deep balls to DJax

The win would have been greater had the Rams not failed to cover the trick plays. But a win is a win. Still the Rams need to improve on defense going forward.

“That was not stuff we were surprised by, but we didn’t execute and they did. They ended up creating a bunch of momentum, ended up having two fake punts and a surprise onside kick. Both of those things were things that we did anticipate and expect.” Sean McVay

This is even more alarming. If they expected the Lions to pull out some trickery, then why in the hell weren't they better prepared for it? That speaks more volumes than not expecting it resulting in the bad ST's play.

But to expect it and not execute, that is alarming that the coaching staff don't have a clue.

Have to give credit to the Lions. They were absolutely ready for this game.
Well at least one team was ready for this game..... :dhd:

I missed the game myself, I thought it was the Rams bye week, and after reading through the game thread, apparently so did the Rams!

Onward to Houston!

Good grief man. The defense was on the field the whole game. Gave up 3 points total from an onside recovery and 2 fake punts. Big plays were made by the big time players when it was needed.

So you're saying the Rams were ready?

Besides the special-teams being caught sleeping a few times I think overall they were ready to play. I don’t think the Defense expected to be on the field that much and I think there was some bad play calls on offense early in the game.

I think Detroit was back against the wall, claw and fight, desperate to win. So I don’t really expect that same mindset coming from the Rams

But, McVay said they were expecting the Lions to have trick plays and still weren’t prepared.

That’s what’s alarming SJ.

To expect it and still not execute is pathetic. And it wasn’t just once. They got schooled 3 times.
