We keep pace with the Cards and we are def on the way to a good record before the Bye week. We have a short week and off to Miami with a game against the Dolphins. I'll be in touch...

We may need STs trickery against some tougher opponents later in the season but by and large, we are playing pretty well on offense overall that we don't need to RELY on trickery with STs out of desperation like we used to under Fassel

Love the Brian Baldinger analysis of our run game and I think the defeat in the snooperbowl has stuck with McVay to wit he is finally committing to pounding the rock with a three-headed monster.

The best thing about McVay imo, is that he is not entrenched on any one way of winning, system or philosophy. He is young enuff and was mentored by a football family from an early age, Kyle and his Dad as well as Scotty McCloughan to understand how good teams need the right type of player (blue chip) AND can shift strategies depending upon who you are facing any given week. God knows, he learned to shine amidst dysfunction and adversity with our team, without getting covered in shit himself. Everyone loved him here, even Danny Boy.

He is also very willing to admit when he is wrong and change course. Great motivator, loved by his players (if anything...as you have noted Retro...he tries to give every chance to a player he believes in who’s displaying the characteristics of a good football player..to his and the teams detriment at times it would seem)

IN So faras pounding the rock...he’s seen first hand, how important balance can be in terms of winning and losing. Imo, Kyle still leads in creating the most separation for his players thru his brilliant play action schemes...that of course are set up by an efficient running game. That guy can literally plug and play different QBs and RBs and make them look like stars.

McVay is gaining on him. And he’s younger ;)
