Wedge has told the team he will not be back next year, stemming from how he felt the Mariners organization handled his stroke earlier this season. So, the Mariners are in search of a new manager after the season.

The M's Manager Position= Team Scapegoat

This organization doesn't hire managers they hire scapegoats.

I didn't love Wedge but he made the right call to get out of this mess.

3rd manager to quit on this team in the last 10 years (Pinella, Hargrove).

No point in speculating on a big name replacement, no legit candidate would ever walk into this mess. Likely Robby Thompson or Darren Brown or the only guys who would want this gig at this points.

It's why you cannot develop any emotional ties to this franchise as a fan, besides the Pinella years and earlier. The ownership and upper mgmt situation bars this team from seeking greatness. Profits not reinvested into to product, but pockets of upper mgmt and ownership. Manager after manager scapegoated for this elaborate scam. Lincoln and Armstrong never answerable for their shit performance. It's one of the most bizarre franchises in American pro sports. And I refuse to give them a cent because I refuse to financially support such a obvious scam.

Jack Z said he would have brought Wedge back haha. Owell. This team is screwed anyways. If this isn't an exciting offseason and we bring in garbage I'm out!

the person least responsible for this joke of a team's problems is the one who got canned/forced to resign

GM Zerg was being interviewed a few hours ago. Half the questions got a "no comment" or "the mariners organization policy is we don't comment on that". Over and over again. Talk about a robot with Lincoln's hand shoved up his ass directing the speech.

In between, he kept trying to scapegoat Wedge and blame injuries for why his Frankenstein didn't get it done this year. The spin wasn't working because everything was relating to "Your claming Wedge put in his resignation and this was all his decision to leave, but at the same time, he spent the last week publically begging for his job."

Nobody was buying it.

Only thing I will give Z credit for is actually speaking to the media. When a move like this is made Ownership should be addressing their fan base. Z is definately the puppet like you said, really just trying to defend himself instead expressing disappointment in another lost season.

There wont be a "big name " skipper out there stupid enough to take the job, if fans notice a orginzation isn't wilingl to spend money on good talent then you know damn well these mangers talk and know what there looking at.....

Honestly if Robbie Thompson isnt hold any bad feelings with the front office roll with him. He did a pretty good job while Wedge was out, give the guy some quality pitchers and veterans and see what he can do...
