We need to lock Seager up now

We need to sign Seager to a friendly contract right now. He's a building block and a part of this teams future. We need to do what the Rays did. We still have 4 years of control and we will already have him in his prime yes, but right now he's proven he should be here for the long haul and his future looks bright. Why not lock him up so he hits free agency when he's like 32-34?

I agree that Seager needs to be locked up long-term ASAP and I think a lot of people would agree too, including management. I wouldn't be surprised if they were working on it. We locked Felix up with plenty of team control time left, so there's precedent for it. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't do it. In terms of starting off strong and then adjusting to the inevitable adjustments that the league's pitchers make after a rookie's first time through the league, Seager has done what everybody hoped Ackley would do when he was called up the first time.

They have to be in the works as we speak. Play it smart, lock him up now!

I would like it if they signed him and showed some loyalty to him to at least get him through his arbitration years, but to be honest it isn't a make or break deal for the M's if they don't. He's under team control until 2018, so it isn't like he's going anywhere soon.

well there isnt much to talk about with the mariners these days other then they SUCK but it seems like were just ready for this season to end and see what happens this offseason.

also if you think these boards suck try looking up other boards like the angles or blue jays talk about ghost town
