Nothing could hurt worse then the Buckeyes going into a slump these next two years or Tressel retiring in hte next two years and have Bo go to his home state..I know this has been brought up before, but after reading that Pelini spoke at some Ohio State function it makes me think IF he is still young in his head coaching career that he would take an opportunity to go coach the Buckeyes....I would HATE to see it, but you also can't blame the guy...

However..We can all hope Nebraska does just a slight better then tOSU every year and the Bucks keep Tressel for about 8-10 more years, by that time Bo will have been a HUsker longer then he was a Buckeye and hopefully not leave this place.

I know let's enjoy the time while we have it, but I hope that Bo never leaves this place...I want him to retire here in Lincoln and be a Husker for 30 so years....

I am not worried about Bo leaving any time soon. Tressel leaving 5-10 years from now is what I'm worried about.

I really think Bo's a Husker though.

I would agree that Bo probably stays. I got to watch some of the things on the internet on Bo being introduced as the New coach by TO and some other interviews. It seemed that this was the job that this is the job he wants. I could be wrong but some things trump other things. Maybe this job trumps him wanting to leave for that job. At least I hope so, Bo has us going in the right direction.

If Bo builds something great here, which looks like he will, he will not leave. Not many big time coaches abandon what the built to go back to their home schools.

You don't think Bo would take a $1.8 million raise to go back and coach his alma mater in the very home state he was born and raised in? We're talking about the tradition rich Ohio State Buckeye's here not Ohio U.
If Bo has any success here (success being winning a couple of Big XII Championships, playing for NC's) and Tressel decides to retire, Ohio St is gonna come calling with big money.
The thought concerns me.

Yeah that has never happened here at Nebraska with any other sports where they built something great here at Nebraska and then left for their home school. OOPS!!!!!!!

Nebraska is not capable of matching any price that Ohio St comes with. Bo will be gone when Ohio St comes calling.

Not necessarily always their home schools, but their dream jobs...

Sorry, any sport not called football, doesn't even exist without the football team.

Anyway, I wasn't talking about Nebraska, I was talking about coaches in general. Unless they make a leap to the NFL, leaving something you spent so much time building, just to jump ship when you have it made to start from scratch...isn't as appealing as you think, dollars included.

The only reason this is being talked about...is because among the top coaching talent in the land...Bo is the only one who went to a top tier school.

Saban is only leaving 'Bama for the NFL again, not Kent State
Meyer is never gonna coach Cincinnati
Mack Brown isn't leaving Texas for FSU or Vandy
Bob Stoops will never leave for Iowa
the list goes on...

If Pelini builds something great, he isn't just another great head coach, he becomes an ICON...because this is Nebraska, and we embrace football like NOBODY else. TO thought about leaving once...but didn't, and look at him now, not just a great coach, but one of the greatest, a congressman, and now an AD.

The idea of him running home to Ohio is understandable, but I don't see it happening.

also found this, Bo Is rated the #3 coach for the next decade behind Saban and Meyer for the next decade by this site...pretty neat...
Top 10 College Football Coaches for the Next Decade | Bleacher Report

This is kind of funny.

A while back I post a link to an article from the same website and it lists Nebraska on the 10 most arrogant fan base list. I had 3 responses from people trashing the site because it is just articles from random Joe fans.

Now this article comes out and I am sure that this site is now great and credible.

BTW Epic, I know you didn't say anything about it. Just talking in general.
