I disagree with the assertion that Sweat and Terry Mac are only “very good but not exactly all pros.”

If both were traded to the Seahawks, they would immediately be the seahawks best wr and best dlineman. They both could be all pros, and probably deserve to be all pros, especially Terry Mac - the only consistebt weapon on the team for the last three years, without a qb that could get him the ball consistently.

I agree with your assertion that DW would make the WFT the likely NFC East winner, especially with the defensive front they could trot out.
are you forgetting about DK Metcalf?

I did indeed.

I dont think Metcalf is necessarily better than terry mac though. Just bigger.

Their statlines are eeriely similar, and TM has had five different qbs throwing to him, none of whom is russell wilson.

I guess we would have to disagree even if they were both all pros the odds of making it to the super bowl without an all pro QB is very slim and finding an all pro QB outside the top 15 picks of the draft other than Russell Wilson, Lamar jackson, and maybe Kirk Cousins in the last 10 years is even more slim. You can find receivers in the 2nd round or later.

It is more than 10 years but Tom Brady's 7 wins, Brees, Kurt Warner, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, Nick Foles and of course Russell Wilson make your point only about 33% true. Inside the top 15 ... Peyton, Eli, Big Ben and Mahomes. That is since 2000.

No team should trade for Watson until his situation is "resolved"

Well my next few questions would then be this. Which team in todays NFL do you believe has a brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer or Nick Foles level QB that could win the super bowl and or find the next Tom Brady in the later rounds? Also do you feel the best approach is to have an average QB and try to build a crazy roster with a stacked defense, run game, special teams and receiving corp? Which for the most part is what most of those guys had.

I am not sold on you have to have a top 10-15 pick to win a Super Bowl. That was my point. Yes you need to have a good overall team. Your point was that was pretty much a necessity and I am saying it isn't of course Tom Brady throws the entire thing out of balance since as a 6th round pick he alone was QB of 7 SB winners. Four top 15 guys were QB for a total of 7 wins but you'd also have to say NY's defense and Denver's D in Peyton's 2nd SB win were key elements.

Though I’m not going to look it up, I think that it is highly unlikely that every single all pro qb that had ever been named an all pro is either a top 15 draft pick or wilson, jackson, or cousins. I would doubt that’s true from even the last 10 years.

The WFT is a year away from competing for the superbowl with a stacked team and average qb. I dont think Fitzmagic is as consistent as Brad Johnson or Nick Foles for that matter, but he certainly slings ot more than Dilfer or Foles ever did.

I dont know what the best approach is to building a consistent winner, but it certainly isnt what the Redskins/WFT has done since Gibbs 1 left.

Things certainly look the most promising for the WFT this year than they have looked in recent memory. They won the division with 7 wins, didnt lose anybody they didnt want to lose, and signed and drafted well, all without morgaging the future for an unproven rookie qb, or aging vet.

My 2 cents, DK and Terry have the same amount of talent. Terry is a route technician while DK seems to do the most damage going vertical. I'd say AJ Brown is just as good as the two as well

I'm curious too. With the exception of TDs, the production is similar. Hypothetical, he benefitted from having an elite QB throw him the ball too.
Terry catches in traffic, "Moss's" defenders, beats double teams and is a vertical threat. It would hard for me to say Metcalf is in a higher tier than Mclaurin

I do think Terry will be in the top 10 conversation after this year.

DK is bigger, faster, and stronger. He also has a knack for catching Td's. TMAC is a good WR don't get me wrong. but IMO if they did a redraft DK would still get picked higher than TMAC.

DK its a one man wrecking crew. There's been games where TMAC has disappeared.
