I suppose there are still mental midgets out there that uses noise as an excuse for hitting poor shots.

No, it's just annoying. No idea why people think everyone within hearing distance should have to listen to their shitty music. It's just rude.

Didn't they put things in place to keep this from happening?

Many golf fans seem to enjoy watching this tournament.

They wouldn't have to if they didn't promote it in the first place. It's the only one some fans watch. Disorder and golf is the appeal.

That’s pretty ridiculous.

Buncha drunk dumbasses probably saying to themselves “hurrr durrr manage this waste!”

Don’t really know what they can do to prevent it though, maybe no alcohol but there would be an attendance drop.

They're reeling it back in this year. I think even drunken dipshits, while sober, realize how ridiculous that one riot was.

Netting in front of the bleachers. Like baseball has down the sidelines for foul balls.

It would be so enjoyable to view the action through netting. Cripes.

Was there yesterday and it seemed completely fine.

Watched a little yesterday but missed the HIO. Are they still throwing beers?

Could have been a staged event too.

Nope, just alcohol and a crowd mentality.

It was a celebration for a hole in one, not a bunch of drunk ass holes throwing beer for no reason.

It was a bunch of drunk assholes throwing beer for a HIO.

This is the behaviour you're going to get if you create a 'stadium golf' for the masses event. It's a teenage drinking party mentality crowd. They're there to see a hole-in-one - and if they get it they celebrate. It's loud and messy. It took 10 minutes to clear it up. No big deal.

No big deal? How about at the Masters?

My music is not shitty sir

Everyone's music is shitty to someone, even though that's beside the point.

I've posted this before. If I take a phone call in the clubhouse, I'm expected to take the call outside. In fact this is common practice at mine and any private club. The idea is that you're creating noise pollution that others shouldn't be subjected to. Well what's the difference between the two? Why can't I just claim that I always talk quietly so nobody els can hear it and if someone asks me to, I'll take it outside? Why doesn't that same sort of excuse apply indoors? If it's not ok to force your noise on others in the restaurant, it shouldn't be any different out on the course.

You can play with earbuds in and have golf and music. You take golf and silence away from me while you're playing your Taylor Swift.

Never said it was a good idea, but unless they're going to limit alcohol sales, which they won't, too much profit to be made, or get rid of the stadium, which they won't, I can't think of another solution.

...No big deal? How about at the Masters?...
Different event with a different culture. The Masters isn't stadium golf for the masses. I don't believe they allow people to walk around with beer cans at the Masters. I looked at the ticket prices after the 2024 Masters event and the official outlet quoted me $10,000+ for the bottom-end 4 day package. The WM Open tickets prices start at $75 for Thursday. Different crowd.

There have always been a bunch of yahoos in the crowd who are only there for the scene and to get drunk and make a lot of noise... southern AZ.. it comes with the territory.

Waaa, cry more. Funny how the guy who made the shot didn't seem to mind to much but those outside of that party are crying like babies about it. I'm a Happy Gilmore fan myself, anything to make golf more entertaining is good in my book. Golf is boring as fuck to watch, and play to be honest, it's way to slow of a game for me, just like baseball is. I only care about golf in video games cause I can skip all the boring shit and just hit the ball.

action junkies don't fit well with golf...
lol...
who'da thunk

I mean, I play a lot of golf... mostly public... "out there" one endures boisterous drunken assholes driving carts on greens and traps, music blaring... shit that might disturb respectful, traditional players... put up with it all - except sunflower shells spit on green surfaces... fucking disgusting.

It's pretty simple. DON'T ALLOW PAR 3 HOLES TO BE PLAYED IN A STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pheonix is the only course that has a par 3 (16th) completely enclosed.

Everyone is dressed like a clown or character. Unlimited alcohol sales. Like @Homer said : ASSHOLES.
