Well it's that time of year when our greatest sport embarrasses us with ridiculous displays of stupidity and obnoxiousness from drunken asshole fans.

Yawn.

Didn't they put things in place to keep this from happening?

Many golf fans seem to enjoy watching this tournament.

That’s pretty ridiculous.

Buncha drunk dumbasses probably saying to themselves “hurrr durrr manage this waste!”

Don’t really know what they can do to prevent it though, maybe no alcohol but there would be an attendance drop.

Netting in front of the bleachers. Like baseball has down the sidelines for foul balls.

Over the years there was talk about this becoming more regular on the tour. I'm glad that hasn't panned out. I'll wrap a fuckin' club around your neck for playing Billy Joel two fairways away!

That'll soon stop play there. I can see the screaming but throwing stuff?, takes the game to a new low, as low as the Detroit Hockey fans

It was a celebration for a hole in one, not a bunch of drunk ass holes throwing beer for no reason.

reminds me of the righteous Philadelphia fans who wouldn't throw batteries at opposing outfielders unless/until something special happened on the field - like a strikeout or stolen base.

Celebration is one thing, being total assets and throwing shit on the field is over the top. Oh, and BTW, have seen more and more groups, including mine, playing music during our rounds. Having music playing makes the round more enjoyable.

The one of the very few activities were quiet is good, stop trying to play music in one of the remain frontiers of silence.

This is the behaviour you're going to get if you create a 'stadium golf' for the masses event. It's a teenage drinking party mentality crowd. They're there to see a hole-in-one - and if they get it they celebrate. It's loud and messy. It took 10 minutes to clear it up. No big deal.

Keep it to yourself. That's why god gave us earbuds.

Seems like there are more bleachers on 16 every year. I wouldn't want to see it spread, but it's been like that for years and I don't think it has.

It's just 1 hole though and as someone posted upthread, that was for a hole in one which only happens there every couple of years. Generally the crowd there just makes a lot of noise. There are more drunks per square foot than at just about any other sporting event you can name.. and not just golf, so not my scene. But I'm more critical of the spoiled players who whine about it though I haven't heard much of that in recent years either.

How about the way Grillo's ball spun around in the top of the cup a couple of time before dropping on his HIO. I've never seen anything quite like that.

Exactly. I love music. In fact I'm listening to some right now as I do for several hours every day. Hiking a nature trail through the woods is another exception. I don't even like it at the beach anymore.. but I understand it at the beach and used to do it when I was younger so too bad for me.
