I like your beard.
What I don't like is how a guy has to 'pay' (and by pay I mean get beat up) when he makes a clean hit. Clean hits are part of the game.
Caps suck w/out OV
Yeah, I'd rather have him playing. Did they mention anything about his health tonight? I mean in the limited amount of English play-by-play you heard?
they said he was skating and bodreau expects him to take part in a full practice monday
Well, I thought the Caps actually played a better game overall, just didn't have the finishing tonight and the little things didn't go there way. Oh well.
The one thing that pissed me off was EVERYTHING about the Matt Bradley hit. (1) That's a GREAT hit - legal, not in the head, not in the back, and not along the boards. Everything a good check should be. (2) The "boarding" call was fucking ridiculous - how is it a boarding when you hit a guy skating towards you and he's above the goal line in the middle of the ice? (3) Why does a Senator have to get involved and fight him on a perfectly clean hit? Brads ends up getting taken down at the end of the fight, hits his head on the ice, and is probably enjoying a nice 20 stitches this evening b/c he was bleeding everywhere. All for a great and clean hit.
That shit pisses me off because we can no longer trust the players to fight in legitimate situations. Not to knock on hockey players, but a guy gets hit like that in football and he gets up and taps the guy that tackled him on the head. It didn't use to be like this in hockey. It's gotten out of control and I'm sick of seeing it every other game.
I agree, the hitting thing is stupid. A clean hit should not result in a player getting beat up. It's dumb. I agree, they have to respect the game and know that it happens in the sport. Cheap shots should result in a hit, running into a goalie should result in a facewash, a clean hit shouldn't result in anything...maybe a little shove and a player taking the number and remembering to return the hit with another clean, hard check.
