It was his daughter, but yes, that shit is funny. (Sorry Mets fans)
Except for the fact that Cabrera has played more games at 1b then 3b.
Schmidt had 90.9 oWAR over 18 seasons for an average of 5.05 per season.
A-Rod has 51.4 oWAR over 10 seasons with the Yankees for an average of 5.14 per season.
By that, A-Rod is the best offensive 3B of all time. Now excuse me while I go throw up.
Chippers also a big time conspiracy theorist, he be a great addition to The Hoop, IMO.
But Id rather have Edgar Martinez or Miggy manning the hot corner. (Game restrictions not withstanding.)
It was his daughter, but yes, that shit is funny. (Sorry Mets fans)
Miggy has played a hundred games at two different OF spots, 720some at first nearly 700 at third and not even 60 as a DH. And many of those were when his foot was bout to fall off.I can possibly see Miggy in the conversation because he actually played some 3B, but Edgar was really a career DH. Miggy was probably about as good as guys like Killebrew and Dick Allen at 3B, but all 3 of them were good DH candidates when you get right down to it.
Mike Schmidt is the best 3B of all time because of his defense to go with his bat, but as a blind homer, Chipper Jones is the best with the bat at third base.
Eddie Mathews wouldn't hit .200 in Chipper's era.
If you go by peak years, Brett is a bit better, but throughout the course of a career, Chipper was good longer. And Chipper's peak years weren't bad compared to Brett's either, so I'll take Chipper.
Mathews played in the same era in as Hank Aaron, so do you also think Aaron would've been nothing special in Chipper's era?
Hank was a better athlete than Mathews.
And Carlos Beltran was a better athlete than Chipper Jones, so what's your point?
I'd have to say I found his thoughts on Newtown pretty offensive.
Not even a mention of Harmon Killebrew?
I never saw him play, but I just have him pictured in my head as a better offensive version of Adam Dunn. I'm probably way off base, but that's just what I think of when I think Harmon Killebrew.
