I am hoping they lose on this road trip - I am a selfish Lakers fan that does not want to see the Lakers record broken

Even if they do break it, most fans with some sense will realize that the record is 33 in one season, not over a span of two.

There is only one record for the Warriors to even be chasing and that's 33 in one season - The are 23-0 and have 10 to go - as you said - last year doesn't count and no one with a brain is going to say it does.

But the fact stands that they have a shot at doing the 33 in a season. Not exactly the strongest schedule upcoming except against Cleveland.

I'd rather they try to be the first back to back Western conf champ since the Lakers.

This Warriors team could easily beat the Lakers team that won 33 in a row.

Yeah, true, but that's a little bit like saying that Usain Bolt would beat Jesse Owens. Of course Bolt would win. Today's athletes are just in better shape and enjoy benefits that were not available to athletes of the past.

If the W's are still in the hunt for 73 down the stretch - and it looks like they will be - I love that their final 4 games are Spurs, Grizzlies, Spurs, Grizzlies

Yeah... but the Grizz are the type of team that will take the challenge to heart and not be intimidated, I think... especially after being up 2 - 1 to the W's in the playoffs last year. I just can't think of 2 western conference teams that would be less intimidated than the Spurs and Grizz.

That's the way I'm approach it right now. Right now they have a streak of 23 (still f'ing impressive). The Cavs are the next team that could derail them. Personally, I wouldn't mind them breaking the record, and I think all of the criticism they took in the offseason regarding their title win fueled them. I don't mind the Warriors, and I just want to witness history. It would be pretty bad ass to see them beat the '96 Bulls record.

Then lose in the Finals to the Heat....

*dips out of thread before getting laughed at*

Just read somewhere that if the Warriors remain healthy, they'll be favorite in every game except March 19 @ San Antonio

I wonder what kind of odds I could get on the Warriors losing 3 in a row at some point.

What's crazy is they could lose 3 in a row right now and still be on pace for 73 wins.

I hate to be THAT guy to be such a downer.

But, 33 regular games over 2 seasons is not the same.
It is two diffrent teams.

And they lost several playoff games in between, some on their home floor.
I do believe it is the same because the record is CONSECUTIVE REGULAR SEASON games which is why they haven't counted the playoffs last season.
And in doing so they've created a record of their own by being the only team in history to start a season 23-0.

You are not the only guy, I feel the same way. How can you use wins from last year, that had different players?
The only guy that's not there from last season is Lee.

I think that 50 point defeat might have changed their minds.

I agree. This whole notion that it's a completely different team is inaccurate at best. The only person that isn't available is David Lee who now plays for Boston.

Still though, I go with winning streaks as an in-season thing. But going 23-0 is still pretty cot damn impressive.
