I try to always tip. If the service is awful, I won't but I would never EVER leave a nasty note because you should already know why your not being tipped. If I have to leave a note to tell you, I'm probably dead wrong!

I think most of them don't know how lousy they are but it evens out anyway. Because I bet half of all customers the screw the waiter out of a tip was not caused by bad service but because they are cheap assholes.

You're making assumptions. If you live in the same house, things are accessible. My point is no one knows the full story here. It's absurd to pre judge without ALL the facts. But go on...

Involved means to participate. And it is possible for the receipt to be posted without her participation.

It's highly unlikely. She shouldn't even have the receipt. The receipt belongs to the restaurant. How does it get posted online if she doesn't facilitate it ?

Replace 'easily' with 'possible grounds', and I'd be more inclined to lean towards agreeing here with ya. The point is we do NOT have the full story. This rush to stand the moral high road humors me.

If facts reveal her culpability in posting this info, as a restaurant owner, it is legit grounds for action, up to and including dismissal.

The fact that it was posted and from her family is all the information needed to know that she does not deserve a job at your restaurant. She already significantly damaged it.

Obviously not every person who sucks at their job realizes it but most people who suck at their job its because of a lack of effort.
