I might be the only one suggesting a wage for servers with no tips but how is that a bad idea other than that the servers don't get tips?. Explain why.

If you pay a flat rate, bad servers make more than they deserve and good servers make less. Good servers quit. You get bad service with what is left. You tell everyone you know along with everyone else. Place goes out of business.

That is one scenario.

Being a server is a sales position. Not having a cap is a huge incentive to do a good job. They ones who don't are either stupid or lazy.

I don't care what their needs are it isn't relevant. If the job they do doesn't earn them enough to satisfy their needs, find one that does.

I actually agree with you on this. If you are a server, it doesn't matter if you have kids, are trying to get an education, work in a fancy restaurant, are having a bad day or are in financial trouble. You took this particular job and like any job you need to do it to the best of your ability all the time.

Yea, Sapp isn't treated subhumanly, he treats people that way though. I'm not trying to tell Sapp how he should feel and again I wasn't there to have context but I just can't imagine that she was trying to be rude and it could have been a better teaching moment for her had he simply asked her not to call him boy instead of writing that imbecilic note.
