Man, sad day that he is gone but I 100% understand why. Glad to see Jerry making the tough call instead of folding to the will of a player who just wasn't worth the money any more.

I'll never root for anybody to get a ring unless it's with the Cowboys. I love Ware and hate to see him go, but please go away with that silliness. I'm not rooting for him to get a ring unless he's on one of the teams in the SB and I have no other choice because the Cowboys aren't in the game, kind of like the last 19 years.

I get it. DWare has been an absolute stud for us for many years and gave it his all all the time. I love the guy.

But, I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and not of any one player.

This is a happy day for fans of the Cowboys. Jerry did something right, for a change. I just hope he doesn't screw it up by going out and signing some 28 year old guy to a nine figure seven year deal that will be loaded toward the end of the seven years.

I agree Jerry did make a smart move. Finally he didn't hold on to an aging player too long.
Now to finish out the offseason without a dumb move
Such as any of these idiotic moves

1) Byrd would be the dumbest
2) resigning Hatcher almost as dumb

3) signing any player that wants more then 4-5 million a year

Cowboys better hit a home run in the upcoming draft. The current talent on the DL blows. I could now care less how Ware does. Ware will never sniff a superbowl if he is leaving because of the money. Hopefully he signs with the Raiders or Jaguars

See, this is the thing. Smart cap management, especially when it's the hard thing to do, is the gift that keeps on giving in the NFL.

The part that makes me hopeful is this: Jerry wasn't personally going to make less money by letting Ware stay on. He had nothing personal to loose or to gain by keeping or releasing Ware (except his reputation, but that's a whole different story). What he did in releasing Ware is let the Cowboys gain, and that is a major step in the right direction.

As I said before, it remains to be seen if he did it for the right reason. We shall see over the next several weeks.
