Unless you can get St. Louis for a prospect and a pick ( which is not happening) pass on him too, and take a pass on Stafford as well, too many years left and he's overpaid... but as long as we are dreaming I can think of a couple guys I would like Evander Kane or Bobby Ryan would be fun

Stafford at 4 million for 2 seasons? He'd be 30 when he becomes a UFA. Nothing crazy about that.

With the Ducks signing Perry, we could possibly bring Bobby Ryan home this summer. However, that wouldn't help us this season. Still trying to think of what player would work. Have a feeling Lou makes a Mogilny type move like he did the first time he traded for Alexander with Vancouver.

Wow didn't think they would resign him. Congrats to the ducks who resign key players before they reach ufa

How are the Ducks going to field a competitive team? Somebody (Ryan) is going to have to be moved. Have they learned nothing from the Tampa Bay Lightning following the 05 lockout? Richards, Vinny L, St. Louis, Boyle, all of their money was locked up in a few guys.

i agree nasty. the ducks and bolts both need defensive help either now or with prospects we seem loaded with that. i wouldnt even hesitate to move someone if it meant bringing in some o help. we saw last year with our d men are capable of winning us games if our offense is able to grind it out in the o zone long enough.

yet the ducks are 2nd in the west why would they look to move anyone this year?

how about jagr any interest in him to help the pp?

put jagr on the 3rd line with clarkson

I love Jagr. The problem with him is how will he hold up physically, and does he care enough mentally? He was a ghost against us last year in the playoffs.

I don't think Perry was ever a realistic option, however the trade market for top 6 guys is shrinking. A guy like Iginla will cost more than they are worth at this point. May have to make an outside the box move. I'm not 100% sure who else is available at this point.

thats what im thinking with jagr though limit him to like 15mins a night. heck he has decent stats on dallas still. last year no one on the flyers did squat against us.

wheel him out on the pp he has to be good still on that.

It is an interesting thought. He wouldn't have to be "the guy" on the Devils either. He and Kovy on a PP together would be gross, he has the ability to dangle and allow Kovy to get open. Expiring contract, crappy team, probably wouldn't cost us too much.

Although Jagr is allergic to backchecking, and I'm not sure how great he is at forechecking. Probably not a Lou guy.

yeah i agree his speed is an issue and his defense is also an issue. but hey for the next 15 games and x amount in the playoffs its a risk worth taking. if he can help out the pp then its worth it. face it you live and die by your powerplay if we had a half decent one we wouldnt have been on that 6 game streak

Amen, Cup. I was going to create a thread about Jagr a long time ago but figured I'd get a lot of shit for it. Especially after Lou didn't attempt to replace Parise at least with a guy or 2 we've actually heard of. Jagr could provide some secondary scoring. Like, you mentioned, just give him limited minutes and he should help. He's been really good in Dallas this season.

At any rate, players will have to start demanding less than they have been recently if they want to be on competitive teams.

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has acquired a conditional fourth or fifth round draft pick in 2015 from New Jersey in exchange for forward Matt D’Agostini and a conditional seventh round draft pick in 2015.

From the main board. Can't say I know much about the guy.

Maybe Poni is worse off than we know? Or maybe this is a depth move in case we want to move somebody?

Third time this season Lou has made a minor move.

Surprised that Pesonen and not Sestito is being returned to the minors.

To me it is Kostopolus, who is not showing up at all after being acquired from Pitt. Pesonen is somewhere near by.

Kostopolus has done pretty much what expected him to do. He's a slightly better version of Barch/Cam. We didn't give anything up to acquire him though. Usually Lou is pretty good with trades so I'm optimisitc about this one.
