That's odd. That is the way it works in every other major sport at every level.
1st win your division.
2nd win your conference.
3rd go to the playoffs.

I know it's easier when you have more than 4 playoff spots. Maybe that is the problem.

How many other major sports have a setup like college football? None. And it's not even close. Like I said, this has happened so often in the NCAA tournament, non-conference champs getting rated higher than conference champs, but nobody complains. You can't compare college football to any other sport because no other sport has the sort of dynamics that this sport does.

I agree. I don't think they should play conference championship games unless they're going to figure out how to put the two best teams in them.

The two best teams in the B1G played each other on November 26th.

Personally I think they should just go to a 6 or 8 game format.And cut back the grey areas

I think OSU is one of the top 4 teams in the country. Should they be in the playoff? I don't know, and who would you leave out?

However, the committee going against the president that it used 2 years ago to let the 1st no conference champion in the playoff and leave the team that not only won the B1G, but beat OSU H2H is BS.

I can see it to a point. But by that standard I think Head to head losses.And losing the division matter more than one loss.When a team earns the right to play for that extra win in the same conference. I also think wins matter. Even if we are to make a case for OSU.I don't see a justifiable reason to rank them above three conference champions.That are 12-1. As I said anyone can win an OOC game. Winning a conference is an entirely different level of difficulty. By ignoring conference its watering down the season and conference play. People can say what they want about Washington's schedule. But a 13-0 or 12-1 conference champion.Is a higher standard than an 11-1 team that could not win their conference. If they are basing decisions on losses victories should be held to the same standard.

FBS football is unique. In the other sports when another team upsets the better team in the conference tournament, both usually get into the playoff. It's not as big a deal as it is here.
