Ohio State got fucked

That clock shouldn't have been running
what I would have thought....but rules guy in booth said right call. would also have thought on the penalty late on Oregon the play would not have counted as going from 10 to 6 seconds was crucial.

Ohio St totally botched the ending of that game, why the fuck did Howard run with time running out? You have to throw it to the end zone there. But yeah the clock shouldn’t have been running a couple of plays earlier.
Hell, he had Innis for 8-10 yard gain on the right sideline.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH osu where 21 million cant overcome shitty coaching to win a natty HAHAHAHAH
shitty coaching a bit of a stretch as no coach gave up 2-3 long pass plays, committed an iffy penalty late, ran the clock out, etc. But coaching played a role in loss.

are players ever responsible for their mistakes?

Ryan Day a poor mans John Cooper

1-7 vs top 5
I mean, the guy has beaten what seemed like some pretty highly ranked Wisky and PSU teams (did beating them knock them out of top 5)? also ND.

Should also get some credit for so far never losing to a team out of top 25. Coop also not close to the recruiter Day is.

absurd analogy.

If, say, OSU completed a 25 yard pass could they have declined the penalty? If not brilliant move by him.
not sure whether it was intentional, but with 12 defenders completing a pass was less likely.

Coaching didn't know clock runs on offensive penalty. Coaching called a slow developing play with 6 seconds left instead of either a quick out or hail mary. Iffy penalty is a stretch too, both arms fully extended on his rear is textbook opi

If we couldn't decline the penalty my guess was intentional but like you not sure.
kind of brilliant if it was, and a rule that needs to be fixed.

also kind of surprised osu didn't attempt the field goal.

That's a mistake but there was another 59+ minutes played in the game and doubt anyone in the stadium knew.

as to the latter that is simply false. Innis was open quickly for an 8-10 yard out on the play. You thinking the play caller/coach has to make the read AND make the throw for the QB?

Penalty admittedly not sure about the rule. If the DB blocks/pushes the WR he cannot push back? Also didn't know there could be PI before a ball was thrown. Either way wouldn't that be on the receiver and not the coaches if it's "textbook PI"?

again, can you ever blame a player for screwing up? Hw about the many deep balls given up by the AA DB? Not the player at all?

Hell of a game last night. Was disappointed with Ohio State's clock management their last possession.

line of scrimmage was the 38 i believe. +15?
could be right but thought was past the 40. either way a 55 yarder for a guy who never kicked one longer than 46? I'd say better option was trying for a quick sideline pass and Innis was open for one.

Most kickers have that kind of range this day and age. But yes they had time for one quick play, and it couldn't be a run play.

Not in college. It is rare to see a kicker make or attempt one from that range.

The refs last night were questionable all night. The opening drive to not even review the interception/catch when the booth and rules expert said it was an interception was a bad start.

Then they missed DPI on both sides a few times during the game. Then reviewed the fumble, the TD catch, and the runner not stepping out for way too long when all were extremely obvious.

The OPI was correct imo. The receiver extends his arms and clearly pushes the defender at the top of his route. That is different then normal hand battling.

I was not aware of the clock running rule but they explained it during the game and it is correct. The clock started again when the ref whistled. OSU just missed it.

Overall, a great game. Terrible officiating that is par on course for this conference and hopefully something that will be fixed.

This is Ohio State,. he's 0-1 from 50 plus. They no doubt would have attempted a field goal had they gotten another play.

agree...and everyone but the QB knew that. That's on him. Not the coaches.
